I have no idea what to call Burn The Priest era in terms of genre, but I know for a fact it wasn't death metal. And LoG was never heavy metal, they were however metalcore. CoB isn't melodeath because of the keyboards you tard. Carcass, At The Gates, In Flames, and other early melodeath bands didn't use keyboards. Bands today like Amon Amarth, Obtenebris, and Mors Principium Est don't use keyboards and are melodeath. If keyboard=melodic then wtf are Rhapsody, Dream Theatre, and Sonata Arctica?

Death metal usually has very fast and technical guitars and drums, a lot "heavier" sounding and often has deep, guttural vocals with themes concerning (obviously) death.

Although there's a lot of crossover between the two.

But yes, this is definitely death metal or goregrind.
