  • What impressed me and my brother in law (who's not a huge Rick Springfield fan, by the way) was that his songs rocked much harder live. My theory he would have had them rock harder on the albums in the first place, but the songs were probably given more of a pop sound due to pressure from record execs. That's what the teenage girls wanted.
