  • What does this have to do with the social contract?

  • i hope the bt head green police come after any of you just owning one of thoes

  • topsy turvys suck. i used one before and i got one tiny tomato. the plant barely grew.

it got plenty of sun and plenty of water. these things suck

  • does it work on other plants

  • I tried this about time it started getting tomatoes the stalk started growing up toward the sky then it died. What went wrong.

  • @1974nra Haha same here , my neibors also tried it to the same avail . I concluded the Topsy Turvy goes against the plant because plants grow toward the sun. I think it's just a huge rip off .

  • Practical use=no, do you see farmers switching to topsy turvy? NO, never

Decoration=pretty cool, if you're not out to grow giant tomatoes and you just want something neat for your home garden then you should buy this, it will impress folks.

On an unrelated note I would definitely turn Anne Topsy Turvy and plant her...

  • A big rip-off

  • I had one of these for tomatoes and strawberrys and both species of plant died shortly after producing fruit. I'll stick to putting produce in the ground next year.

  • @lithium803 Remember you have to add nutrients to the soil. Use high quality soil from the start, like Miracle Grow or Lambert organic soil. Water the plants are essential, because it is upside down water lose is high. Try to use a drip irrigation system, the tops of the topsy turvy have a pre made hole for irrigation hose.

  • @Keepskatin I did all that. I used a high quality, sterilized, peet/soil mix. I added nutrients regularly and kept the soil moist without watering it so much that I was washing the nutrients away. I'm glad it worked out for you, but it obviously wasn't my forte. lol I'll keep my green thumb firmly planted in the earth from now on. Thanks for the reply!

  • @lithium803 No you will not give up on topsy turvy.I have been successful growing many plants in my turvy. The only problem I'm having is with my tomato plant. Remember not all plants will survive in different zones. Luckily there are about 20 varieties of tomato plant,so you must use rial and error to see which plant will survive out of the proper plant zone.My cucumber plant grew the quickest and I have 3 fat greens on the plant now. Took about 3 months for it to produce.

  • @Keepskatin I hope you aren't as much of a douchebag today as you were 8 months ago.

  • @kiminokami My account was banned for being a douche,I'm finally back and now I'm a bigger douche than ever...bite me. Also my topsy turvy units all suck, the plastic decays overt time and little bits of plastic spill into the soil and makes a filthy non organic mess.Screw you topsy turvy infesting my organic garden with plastic.

  • I'm using a topsy turvy right now. instead of keeping on your toes to make sure it doesnt die, you need some sort of slow-drip irrigation system. Try to pick up a fea AQUA GLOBEs.. another as seen on TV product that slowly waters plants.

  • I'm surprised by all the negative remarks. I've used these for the last two years with great success. It's true that you need to water it daily but that seems a small price to pay for all the benefits. The tomatoes in my garden are fighting blight and the topsy turvy ones are much healthier. I hang them from my children's old swing set.

  • check out my video reponse on the gravity planter

  • I tried this last year. What a waste. they forget to tell you that it must be watered heavily every day, without fail. Looked like a good idea, but I will never waste my money on it again.

  • @9aspengold5 Think about it.Plants are living, imagine yourself being stuck in the hot sun all day without proper supple of water and possibly no shade, you would die too.Plants need love and care.Use a irrigation system,or be prepared to water your plants up to 6 times per day.

  • @Keepskatin you are right!

  • @Keepskatin plants are not living organisms, they don't have feelings. lol

  • I have these but my tomato plants didn't do so good in them last year. I am going to try again this year with better soil and use early girl tomato plants.

  • Where are the tomatoes ON the plant?

  • Those things suck and they do not work.

  • this how millionaires are made. by selling stupid ideas to naive people. fuck the tomatoes who cares!

  • @ecsyntric Hey You these planters are very cheap $6.99. You will save yourself so much money instead of buying those overpriced tomatoes from Publix. This is so much safer for your plants than planting in the ground, and the plant is portable. Gardening isn't for lazy, non nurturing people. Most of our ancestors were farmers and gardeners.

  • At least the birds won't have to get all dirty to enjoy their tomatoes....

  • pfffft,

who plants vegetables in the ground?

    not america.

    thats who.

  • growing upside down sucks

  • Comment removed

  • @partyongarth420 Your the dumbest fuck since GWB Jr. *facepalm*

  • how would u like to grow upside down

  • I am wondering if it could support its own weight? The saw the commercials and it seems like they are going the rip the roots off and just fall out of the topsy turvy on to the ground.

  • People learn science...... Plants need to grow /\ not \/....... FYI dumbasses... Greenhouses heat the room and give sun to the PLANT not the stupid soil..... DUH Common sense.

  • hmm....grow pot with it?

  • All of the plant I've seen growing out of this looked so sickly.

  • I'm not weighing in one way or another on the Topsy Turvy - I will give it a test myself this season. I do think a lot of the comments from people that knock it though seem to be based on the opinion that it would be 'too easy'. Don't forget . . . this thing is not 'magic', it is just a planter. Like anything, you are going to get out of it what you put in. Some people claim fantastic results while others think it is sh**. I suspect the former might have just put in more care and effort.

  • I have a green thumb. I am a totally devoted gardener. I hear people say they were successful, but I have never seen it, not even from the folks that are pitching the sell. The commercial has fake tomatoes. All that I did see around town were worst than mine. Tomato Cherries might work. The roots may not require much space to grow in. However I wish you luck!

  • That's a bummer to hear - I didn't spend much on these - I bought two last fall at a ridiculously low end of season sale. But, I have a typically small city yard and was really hoping this was the real deal as I just don't have much space to work with. I'll give it a shot - thanks.

  • Topsy Turvy owes me and everyone else their money back. I have two I want to return and get my money back, that is not including the cost of the plant, plant vitamins, potting soil, watering and my time. You can't grow BIG ASS JUICY RED TOMATOES in small spaces. I found several problems with this method. You are a RIP OFF and a FRUAD!

  • @madluv4usher I'm glad I read your post. This thing sounds like a total ripoff.

  • Believe me you the person that is going to give it a try will need more than a song and a prayer. lol! Thanks for your reply. Good luck on your gardening this year.

  • Correction, FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mine dry rotted....waste of time

  • I'll stay with the traditional way, the way we have been doing it for thousands of years.

  • never buy it mine got fungal disease and died

  • wow...that`ll defientley stop birds eating the tomatos...

  • hey lady, are you the same girl from the comercial or are you just a frod? (copy cat)

  • I tried this product it didnt work at all.. BUT I DID TRY A PRODUCT CALLED A BLOOM MASTER I grew three tomato plants nine pepper plants hearbs and flowers in one container I live in Az It does work in our heat It not only worked it grew more veggies than we could eat. I started giving them to all my friends I wouldnt have belived it had I not seen it with my own eyes

  • Get a full grown tomato plant from the nursery, then shove the fucker in the topsy BULLSHIT with some dirt and presto there you go just like the add. Good luck with any other method, works like shit.

  • I poked a hole in a cheap plastic hanging basket and had much better luck then with my topcy. The TT won't dry out and that means rot is on it's way. I like in so cal and it hot and dry every frigen day.

  • My topsy turvey is doing hurrible. It is only about half the size of my regular garden tomatoes. The tomatoes tend to fall off before they completely ripen. I will stick to my regular garden tomatoe's next year.

  • Same! I am having the same problem, and am very unsatisfied with this product. I called them to get a refund, and they were very rude, and said that I should follow the instructions. Well....$15 wasted, and a poor tomato plant not doing so well.

  • either the normal way of growing stuff for thousands of years has been wrong or this is a gimmick. You decide.

No more stooping to pick veggies. now you need a ladder to water them.

  • it sounds like a good idea but does it actually work?

  • if u live in a hot area then with direct sunlight all day try medium to light watering everyday, I live in so cal and now that its summer ive bumped up my watering. good luck let me know

  • .now that I changed the soil it looked better getting greener...all of a sudden I noticed like mold growing on the sponge and now whole stems are wilting so fast...I checked the inside and its full black bugs I don't know what to do? can you help

  • the leaves are full of bugs or the inside of the container? Sometimes the sponge gets dirt imbedded in in and it looks dark. If the leaves have black aphids on it u can get tomato dust from home depot, or u can sue ladybugs. they eat them up.

  • Its takes the fun out of a hard working farmer.

  • BAHAHAHAHA. This crap is so dumb...but, they're everywhere!

I'm like WTF is wrong with people?! OMG...Lmao.

  • also use a good soil like maricle grow garden soil, has good moisture control and has self releasing nutrients.

  • thats just the way the roots look like close to the sponge. mine does the same thing, Be careful about overwatering, I used 2 water every day and mine tudned yellow as well, now i water once every 3 days and my early girl tomatoes are about 2 1/2 in wide and about 7 growing now, good luck.

  • Hi I planted a early girl tomato plant on a topsy turvy well I planted in Apr so far it only has given me one small tomato...first I had put the wrong soil I didn't buy potting soil i bought the gardening one...I decided to change the soil to see any differece b/c it was looking like it was drying out..

  • I purchased two topsy turvy planters this year. I planted the tomato plants about a month ago. One of them is doing very well. The other one appears to be dieing. It looks like some of the roots are growing out of the sponge, and the leaves are yellow. I planted them and care for them in the same manner. I don't know why one thrives while the other is about to bite the dust!

  • @TERRYBEAR100

how is your topsy turvy doing now???

  • 1st of all what kind of person are you to name yourself 'godscuttingyoudown'

2nd of all this thing is crap i replaced the 2 that died. put my best plant in there, it has not grown a bit this is the biggest crock since OJ

  • I used the topsy turvy for my garden this year. I planted 1 1omato in a regular 3 gallon pot and one in the tury. the regular pot has way more growth. the plants grow slower upside down. The one in the regular old pot is dominating. well see later on in the summer if it keeps the fruit better. But i found chicken wire works fine.

  • this thing is crap!

the little pac-man will bite your plant in half! after 2 weeks both my tomato plants were choked to death right where they exit

  • your retarded you actually expect me to believe the soft sponge choked the plant

    ha ha ha

i only had one plant die growing upside down and that's was from destroying too many roots when planting

  • bah pile of crap... wheres the AFTER results.. roots will grow downward and tomatos will be as small as marbles..

  • I hope they send you a check, all this was was a friggin commercial.

  • What's the point of the lid at the top? Shouldn't it stay open to receive the rain?

  • Isn't it cheaper to get a bucket, punch a hole at the botton, put a small piece of foam and have the same results for 1/10 of the price?

  • That would also look much better than these tacky looking things.

  • no the bucket will weight 30lbs easy with the soil

so you need a hook, wire, sponge, bucket and plant and since you trying to build it on your own you will need to pay tax on all these items if you buy them separately.

youre just like my dad always talking shit like you could do it better cheaper but the end result is more expensive and crappier.

  • I actually bilt it after my original post, and the final cost was $11.12 cents. Your father is not lazy, you are.

  • $10.25 at CVS :O

  • Wow, that's a really good price if it includes the potting soil and the tomato plant. Sucker, you were either taken for a ride or you work for these people, because there is no way a racional thinking person would defend a fucking bucket that costs $10 plus S&H.

  • Let me correct myself $19 + $15 S&H. That's $34 + taxes and 4 -6 weeks delivery. You know, you should buy food like this too, so long as you have someone to knock on your door after 6 months to bury your sorry ass. I say, shove your head in a topsy turfy and use it as plant food.

  • dirt's free and so is the plant i stole from your back yard when i hoped over the wall last night :O!!!

  • OK, so the tiny piece of skinny ass stuck to my German Shepherd's teeth belongs to you.

  • nope that's the dried piece of shit i left on your lawn

its no my fault your dog loves the taste of my shit :O

  • you guys are so funny. was sayn to myseslf that thing looks like could make it. i know i seen some of the materials at walmart. ty for those feedback on that thing.

  • I agree with guardenguy...these planters are a waste of money. We used them with no satisfaction at all. sorry

  • use this to grow your weed! faster

  • and get hi faster to my man

  • that's a great idea

    420 tomorrow
