  • The guard in the end said to the guy:

    - If you mfer take ONE more step towards that door i will shop your head of with this sword before you even know what happen!

  • He will only move if his life is in danger, someone trespass the ground or if he witness a crime in progress. They are not purely ceremonial and any guns they carry is loaded.

  • I bet these gaurds have the funniest stories at the end of the day.

  • @007corie I bet they have the worst back pain at the end of the day.

  • @dmc081 that's real hard work

  • nice uniform

  • The guard moved at the end to tell that guy he can't go back there

  • i bet the guy at 1.17 thought oops do i go any further?

  • i bet the at 1.17 thought oops do i go any further?

  • lol I always thought that if you bother them for too long they'll come alive and shoot you!!

  • these soldiers arnt just brave men but gentlemen, i remember when my sister when she was like 4 fell over right infront of one and hurt herself, the guard was soon to her aid making sure she was ok

  • @superwizdummm thumbs up x2000.. well said (:

  • What palace is this ? :3

  • @nigel94rich This is at Horse Guards, the old entrance to Whitehall and through to Horse Guards Parade, where Trooping the Colour takes place. The soldier on duty is from The Life Guards, the senior regiment of the British Army and part of the Household Cavalry.

  • @nigel94rich It's Horse Guards on Whitehall, the official entrance to Buckingham Palace but it itself isn't a palace

  • These are the royal mounted regiment. You have to join the army first.

  • Is it true that you need to first enlist in the Army to join this Elite Regiment?

  • Just once, I would love to see one of these guards haul off and beat the shit out of one of these annoying tourists! Why are tourists so disespectful to these men? Hey, why dont you try pulling that shit at Arlington and see how far you get???

  • In the end, the guard warned the camera man going towards building "Fuck off dude"

  • @dmc081

Really cock. What training would he need in the Argan you twat.

  • People think this is just for old custom and looks but these guards actually know how to use those weapons and will mess someone up bad if need be.

  • They have some good discipline. Now if only they can cut someone.....

  • looks very well turned out to me

  • Man these poor guards must get sick of tourists! It's like having people gawk at you while you're just trying to get your job done :D

  • that's a pretty cool helmet

  • wtf is this purpose of these asses. then they say why is our economy failing.

  • @CallAnAmberLampsLOL1 The purpose of these people is to protect our country.. they dont just stand there you know, they're front line troops..

  • @BFBCFTW

protect the country with a sword lol. these aren' the middle ages you know.

  • @CallAnAmberLampsLOL1 Im going to assume you're trolling.

Just incase you aren't. Thats ceremonial uniform. When they go out on tour they get guns etc..

  • @CallAnAmberLampsLOL1 this is why shit loads of americans come to london every day, to see our guys with swords lol...talk about a thick nation.

  • Where's his horse?

  • @dmc081 You need an incredible amount of discipline.

  • The reason he moves at the end is to tell the man approaching to 'stand clear of the arches', as that is where he is guarding and the public aren't allowed.

  • i love the horse guards

  • These guards so a shit load of Discipline.

  • @Jesse4Jezza damn right. discpline and tradition. no way in hell i could do that.

  • Lmfao! All he had to do was look at him and the guy backed off!

  • @dmc081 The Guards are all hand picked ex-British special forces, so ya. It does need some training.

  • @LolFishFail

    No, they are not 'hand-picked'.

The soldiers seen guarding in this video are Troopers, not 'Guards', as the latter would refer to them being in the Foot Guards, which they are not.

The men who join the Household Cavalry, be it the Life Guards or the Blues & Royals, are ordinary professional career soldiers and are not hand picked at all.

They are trained to crew FV107 Scimitars as formation reconnaissance during combat operations.

  • @emptyangel

Mounted guard duties rotate between the two regiments and with the Royal Horse Artillery in the summer.

It even rotates within the regiment so that every trooper performs public and guard duties equally, none of the men are hand-picked.

The same applies for the Foot Guards when they guard Buckingham Palace, St. James Palace, the Tower of London and Windsor Castle.

  • @emptyangel Thanks For the Update, :D

  • @LolFishFail know what you are talking about before you post....they are not hand picked.....they are not ex-special forces. The are members of the Household Cavalry which is an operational recon unit in combat. they deploy to afghanistan on rotation between doing guard duties like this.

  • @pyro999maniac I wish you would know what you are talking about. To be in the special forces guys are hand picked... ¬.¬

  • @LolFishFail I do know what i am talking about. I was referring to your comment to @dmc081 "The Guards are all hand picked ex-British special forces, so ya. It does need some training." of course Special Forces are hand picked but none of these guards are special forces or ex-special forces. Because These guys are not ex-special forces they are not hand picked.

  • @pyro999maniac Why should I believe you ;) even if you're right. You don't have to be a dick about it.

  • @LolFishFail i'm not being a dick about it. i was just pointing out that these gus are not secial forces or ex-special forces. they are an operational unit of the British Army. anyone can join this regiment. they don't hand pick you. i have friends and relative who have served with and alongside these regements.

  • Americans only respect their own....

  • @Crape101 That's why the world hates USA.

  • Damn right!

  • @Crape101 Thats a load of bulshit buddy.

  • @Musicfan105265 Ive seen American tourists myself, it's true.

  • @Crape101 So youve seen a few people who are ass holes why base an entire country on a few idots.

  • @Musicfan105265 But when I meet them over the internet, when I see them on YouTube, when I see them on British news channels like the BBC - a "few" is not the right considering most are just..........

  • @Musicfan105265 i agree with you mate iv got american mates there cool, crape is a tosser

  • why are london gaurds like this?

  • @loopper9

Because it's been 'like this' since the 1600s.

  • That is one hell of a uniform.

  • im a horse guard, im a blue and royal.....there is no security....

  • The guy was probably like, holy #@$% it moved

  • Either way the man did his job!

  • Hmm, I would love you to say that to them face to face in a bar!

  • The only waste of money I can see is your internet provider fee.

  • that the guard was moving at the end happened to me too, he said "step back the arches" because behind him are the stables of theier horses :D it was kind of funny :D

  • The stables have nothing to do with the fact the Life Guard asked you to step away. More specifically, The Guardroom is directly to the right of the arches!

  • yes if you look at this vid there is security on the far left of the picture getting ready to ask him to move
