  • I have to agree with most people on this one. The original was better because it gave it a bit more of a dramatic effect while on the other hand I prefer Chris Sabat as Vegeta's voice actor. :p I like Nappa's newer dub though trolololol.

  • Team4star all the way baby way better

  • Original is better. Drummond got into the character of Vegeta a lot deeper than his successors.

  • I like Sabat way more for Vegeta but Drummond nails this, he's the reason the internet meme was popular.

  • ITS OVER 9000, rughh

  • ocean: it's over 900000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 (breaks scouter)

    funi:its over 9000 ragh

  • In this scene, I like the old voice. In everything else, I prefer the new one.

  • 90s version rules

  • who's the original's voice actor?

  • @bobabeens brian drummoneds

  • The only reason I like the original one is because it's just so ridiculous

  • @TheRoflSpartan yes and more anger

  • Chris sabat is a shit licker

  • the new one sounds like shit

  • hate to say it even though sabat was the new vegeta and has a deeper voice the original is better

  • I like Chris Sabat's voice for Vegeta so much better :P

  • Nappa and Recoome's voices sounds more retarded in the FUNimation dubs.

I like both Dubs but I don't think they gave either characters good voices.

  • Definitely like the classic better

  • Well, the Kai version is pretty good. Only the TV vesion with 9000 though, the DVD's 8000 was bull!

  • Chris Sabat does it for me.

  • 90's version of Vegeta's voice is the best.

  • i prefer the original much better, but the other guy's voice suits vegeta more. D=

  • @rvbrules Absolutely.

  • Vegeta's angry scream is clearly better in the old version, but the second voice itself is way better than the old one.

  • i like the first one better but vegeta's voice is better in the second one. but not nappas

  • I like the original, but Vegeta's voice is better done by Christopher Sabat.

  • original

  • I can't pick! I like them both!

  • old

  • in dragon ball z kai, chris sabat even says it like the ocean dub guy brian drummond so obviously they changed the way he said it because people prefer it that way

me i just dont like brian drummonds voice for vegeta's character, i do prefer it said his way though

  • original one is the best, the other one seems so fake

  • i dont like his voice in the original so i will say the new one but i do wish it was a little more dramatic.

  • I just noticed u used scarface music at the end or at least I think u did and I think the second one is better cause the first one makes vegeta sound like a rapest

  • The first one is better. In my opinion, it is so because the first one dramatizes it *much* more, and, I'm sure that DBZ fans everywhere would agree with the following statement, that's what made this particular scene, or line (whichever you're more comfortable), so popular. Thank you, Vegeta, for showing us how it's really done. ^.^

  • i will be honest...the old version is better cuz he dragged 9000 like he wanted to make goku eat a ass... but i like how he growled in the new version.. i wish sabat would have dragged it out and growled too cuz i like his voice better...

  • Of witch DVD Box are the fist version?

  • How does a retarded yo mama joke have 41 thumbs up? Seriously like those stopped being funny 5 years ago.

  • @WhiskeyTonic Then thumb it down.

  • @WhiskeyTonic made me chuckle so idk

    :D

  • old version is a legend!

    over 9 thousand!!!!! hahah epic!!!

  • This scene is exactly why Brian is better than Christopher.

As you can see and hear for yourself, Drummond makes Vegeta sound legitimately pissed, unlike Sabat, about finding out how strong Goku is!

  • @SawThatComingAgain sabat didnt care because he SHOULDNT. hes twice as strong as goku in this scene.

  • @SawThatComingAgain

But in my opinion and according to what I've seen, the Japanese wanted Vegeta's expression to be surprise/astonishment by Goku's power level. Although I prefer Drummond's Vegeta, I'd say Sabat did the more believable Vegeta in this scene (never over-emotional)..

  • the first one had more feeling in it and even though chris sabat is better i still say the original i used to watch it wen i was younger but not anymore

  • Your speaking with an addict here so Im sure everyone will agree with me. OLD: 1. Epic music 2. Nappa has hardcore voice 3. Nappa says "what 9000!?", "theres nuuuuoOO waAAY that can be right" and "Can IiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiT!!!!?" better NEW: 1. Vegeta saying "its over 9000 uaaAAHHHH!!!!" its just HILARIOUS XD 2. Vegeta still has a cool voice for a different person playing him 3. Nappa says "Niuune ThouuusaND?!... *pause*" his voice is just funny there XD 4. no epic music in this version :)
  • It's hard for me to compare. I like the original because I laugh my ass off every time I hear it. However the second, I must agree with a lot of people that the new one its Vegeta's personality better though. However, I will say I probably like the original because it's the first I ever saw of "9000!".

  • absolutely LOVE chris sabat. his voice is a fantastic fit for the prince of saiyans. at the same time, however, brian drummond takes the cake for his intensity on this one. Sabat's voice is wonderfully gruff, and to be honest surpassed drummond in overall performance-- but drummond really put his scream into this one. thank god sabat came on though. where would we be without that epic cry when Vegeta 'vanished in a blinding flash of light'?! Sabat is the the prince of saiyans. he is the best.

  • Chris Sabat doesn't do it with enough force

  • The original sounds much better. Plus, Nappa doesn't sound as big and deep in the newer version compared to the original

  • For sheer nostalgic purposes, I doubt anybody will ever be ably to top the "It's over nine thoooooussssaaaaand!"

Yes, it's still and over dramatic...but wasn't all of Dragon Ball like that?

  • Nappa-VEGETA WHATS JUSTIN BIEBER'S GAYNESS LEVEL?

    Vegeta-ITS OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • second one

  • the original. (the first one)

  • I'm amazed the new voice actor didn't try to out9000 the original... I mean... come on, you had the opportunity to make history there!

  • I like the new voice better but the old says over 9000 better

  • first one

  • 90s version ftw!

  • Chris almost sounds like he's purposefully going against what the old one was about.

  • The newest sounds like a parody.

  • the new one was so pathetic napa to vegeta whats his power leve vegeta Its over 9000. you know vegeta you coulda done that that better

  • The original voice was better in that scene.

  • whats the song called in the end of the video?

  • The new version voices are better. but in that particular seen the OVER 9000!! original voice is better.

  • :( Thumbs up if you think that the remastered version ruined the whole saiyan saga just cuz of those two words and a number

  • how can they say "remastered".

    "ruined" would have been better

  • 90's Vegeta and Nappa > remastered Vegeta and Nappa

  • I like the older version better personally.

  • as for this particular quote the first version is better. but Chris Sabat IS vegeta and always will be.

  • You can tell that Chris really despised saying "It's over nine thousand".

Just listen to his pissed-off-growl afterward.

That can't be from the script.

I'm not doubting Chris' acting capabilities but that was way too real.

  • the 90's version is soo much better in my opinion

  • in my opinion i liked brian d's version of vegeta all the way til the end of the freiza saga then switch to chris sabat. Bc vegeta was younger then so it matched good then sabat should take over after frieza eing that now he is older and all but just my opinion :]

  • In my opinion, Chris has the better "Vegeta voice," But the older, "Brian Drummond version" is better in comparison.

  • i think the 90's version is better than the re mastered version.

  • first one. it's over 9000 times better than the second

  • the 90's version

  • the first war better :D.Its over 9000!!!!!!!!

  • My favorite Vegeta is Chris Sabat, but man... He can't say "Its over 9000!" worth a damn.

  • the 90's nappa is the best, but either Vegeta is okay

  • the old one is the best. in the new one he just says "it's over nine thousand AH!" and nappa is just... bad.

  • Chris is alright. But I always thought that the old voice was more dark and sinister.

  • Everyone will remember this old OVER 9000!!!

    It's just so nostalgic^^

  • it's over 9000 guaaahhh I like that one

  • 90's version sounds better

  • yeah i enjoyed the first one more, its more enthusiastic... hehehe, im sorry chris sabat, me likey old one, but keep up the good work, and keep dragon ball alive for generations to come...old one rules :D

  • napa's new voice is terrible, wow

  • When I first heard the new one on YouTube, I thought it was some kind of fan-made parody. Old one FTW!

  • The second Nappa voice is complete garbage compared to the first. Chris Sabat's rendition is a much better Vegeta though.

  • ITS OVER NINE-THOUSANDS!! GAH!!

  • i like the chris sabat one better cuz thats the better vegeta voice

  • Nappa sounds too much different between them...

  • The other dude: vegeta, what did u say his power level was?

    Vegeta: I didn't...

    T.O.D. Oh..

    DROCTOGONAPUS BLAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • really Brian Drummonds version fits vegeta better is the saiyan saga while chris was better after the saiyan saga so brian was better

  • Old One!

  • yo mama's so fat, that when she stepped on the scale her weight was OVER 9000!!!

  • @Vampir1995 WTF YOU STOLE MY JOKE XD

  • @daftxpunk77 no, i was just faster than you ;D

  • the old dub was just fine, but they had to go fuck it up didnt they

  • I liked the old version better because it's more Vegeta I think

  • Old school.

BECUASE IT WAS DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME

  • in the second one he sounds bored like in the abridged series...

nappa- "why do you sound so bored?"

vegeta- "cuz its still nowhere near my power level!"

[not accurate quotes.. its something amoung those lines]

  • The newer version...totally sucked that line up! SCREW YOU FUNAMATION!!

  • The old version thats for sure its over nine thoouuussaannddd

  • "Its over 9000 Hrauu"

  • I like the original, only because it's so funny and I'm used to hearing it that way. But I will admit the re-mastered version is actually better overall.

  • Chris's voice justs fits the voice better I.M.O.

  • I liked the old one.

    IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND!!!!!!!!!

  • original

  • the DBZ Kai version is better maybe a tie between the ocean over 9000 and the DBZ Kai over 9000.

  • no contest brian drummond owned that line

  • i think the one w/ chris is better

  • the original 1 is the best

  • original

  • original bests everything. ^^

  • the first by a lot....

  • i;m sorry but i prefer the origina;

the edited is just too CALM

  • Sorry, but i'm going to have to go for the original

  • i like both Ryan's and Chris's version but with DBZKai on Nicktoons the way Chris said 9000 on there was WAY better than this version! he just yells it out with feeling!!

  • I like both of them the same, because you can make ytp out of 90s version and I like the new one because you can still watch it today

  • The old one by FAR!!!

I want to kill that stupid Chris Sabat or whatever his name is!!!

  • @dxjohncenacaz Chris gets it right in DBZ Kai

  • the first one. cause i grew up on that one.

  • Original, Shame on Chris Sabat.

  • I like the one where he just yells it for like 2 seconds. I don't like this one that Chris did. I like whatever the one I was talking about in the beginning of this comment better

  • The remastered version sucked, especially nappa. And "its over 9000, ugh" no enthusiasm :/

  • The original,

  • "IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAND!!"

    or...

    "It's over nine thousand-GUUAAAHH-!!!"

I think, while the original is rather comedic/over-dramatic (and in the context of things, it really shouldn't be that "theatrical"), I think the re-mastered version fits Vegeta's character better. But we'll always keep the former in our hearts.

  • @TehJonneh agreed. I actually like the groaning right after he says the line. It carrys alot of emotional frusteration he's having that an earth class saiyan has surpased the elite saiyan prince himself.

And it was nice that in TV broadcast of DBZ kai, for Chris Sabat to actually scream Nine Thousand! as a tribute to Brian Drummonds original comedically shouting delivery.

  • @Vinny792 I too like the groan after the line but i think it would be better on the original.

  • brian is better

  • i like the first one more dramatic its over 9, THOUSAND

  • the first one is the best, but the second one fits Vegeta's voice more..

  • the first one for sure. because in the 1'st one he actually goes 'its over nine thousaaaand!!!'... and in the second one he's like 'its over nine thousand grr'

  • I prefer the original version.

  • I like both of them because the classic is really funny and the newer version fits Vegeta's voice.

  • I think the choice is obvious. Don't you think?

  • First!, wait what?

  • first one is better because its more intense and epic

  • @bookerc1 agreed

  • the old one's funnier, but the Chris Sabat one makes more sense, like that's how someone really would say it if they were there. But the old one's definitely funnier

  • The 1st one was the best but the 2nd one is more clear and able to understand better!

  • i prefer brian

  • the old clip is better cause he like screams

  • I like the older one a lot better but not just because of the voice, it's just how he said it. If they would've said it exactly the same way in the new one it would've been a lot better

  • the newer sounds a lot better. fits the characters better

  • new one is way beter cuz first one u could barly understand him

  • which them is used at :55-1:114?

  • Hm! I'm shocked that I like the newer one. It's sounds more natural, though I still think the old one is so epic (Original dub fan, here) <:p

  • the old one of course

  • the original

  • i prefer the new one cuz its better and the games have that voice but the show didnt i thought that was a lil bit weird

  • i like the voice from the remastered voice but i like hovegeta says it in first on combine and BOOM best line in anime/cartoon history

  • @mistertooter Well, check out the dub of DBZ Kai on Nicktoons. Chris Sabat finally says "it's over 9000!" in an epic way that is at least on par with Brian Drummond's original dub (IMO, it could even be better).

And for any "It's over 8000!" fans, in the DVD/Blu-ray has Chris Sabat dub it like that. So stop your bitching ^^

  • @ShenSorein how is that bitching? if i was bitching i would of said oh the first one sucked ass and the second one was weak but i didn't say that............

  • @mistertooter Oh, that part wasn't actually directed at you, sorry for the misunderstanding ^^;

  • First one is better. Vegeta is a hot head like that.

  • I'm actually slightly surprised everybody likes the old one, I prefer the new one by far~

  • what the name of the ending soundtrack?

  • Old version ftw. In the new one, Vegeta and Nappa sound exactly the same. I mean seriously... at least attempt two different voices.

  • Original hands down.

  • I like the old one better, it had more emotion and character in it.

  • I prefer the Japanese one as Vegeta says it's over 8000 xD

  • the old one is so much better and funnier

  • Old one, hands down. There's nothing wrong with the new dub, but still.

  • the second one is so retarded, it's like "It oveer nine thousand...arrrghh I feel like destroying this handheld electronic!"

    The old one 100%

  • old version is much better

  • Have to go with the first. Even like the original Nappa better

  • ITS OVER NINE...

Yep, its just over 9, not nine thousand XD.

  • @JustinDaMasterMind is it done yet? :3

  • the new ones like...."its over 9000 ughhhh(orgasms)" lol

  • It's over 9000 ugh. That's how the 2nd one sounds, I LOVE THE FIRST ONE.

  • in case you were wondering the first one was by bryan drummand

  • It's 1006... KICK HIS ASS NAPPA!!!

  • chris sabat is a great voice actor but i like the first one.

  • Chris Sabat must have not eaten his Wheaties before say that line. it sounded pretty forced instead of natural. although personally I hate this meme, i don't even watch dbz nor did I when it was still on TV.

  • WTF the second one sounds like a dying hippo!

    Me preferry oldie =D

  • Besides this one part, Chris was the best!...but yeah....no, he sorta failed at this....v.v

  • nappa sounded so unenthusiastic in the second, like he didnt want to be saying it.
