Lovely singing tone and pianistic style, even if slightly less rubato, phrase by phrase, would have been still more telling.A case of "less is more"..but nonetheless a true pleasure!
I do have suggestion if you don't mind. If you take a bit of your time and listen to Kempff with rubato toned down a bit listener gets much better feel for structure of this piece and clear flow of melody. Otherwise it sounds unnecessarily chopped up. Hope you don't take this suggestion in a wrong way I am a long time admirer
@galapz - Hi. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I respectfully disagree. It's perfect the way it is (my opinion). You may play it your way, but this is his, and it is absolutely stunning: Soft, perfect tempo, smooth, and romantic. But one thing I can say about your criticism, it is very constructive and that is very much appreciated. Many people watch videos and then insult the artist.
Thank you very much for the lovely subscription and your comment about my Impromptu No 1 in E Flat "Ode to the heroes". It's an honor to get them from a piano virtuose as you brilliant is. I am absolutely happy you liked my performance.I know I am a rare composer.
Thank you for sharing this. Your approach to this piece is so different and refreshing. It certainly is a favorite of mine. I listen to your recordings a lot.
Vadim, just BRILLIANT, played with such feeling and sensitivity, as always you are an amazing pianist! thank you for your music! When are you coming to the UK to do a concert?
Not to mention his personal and intimate life, the music of Schubert (especially the chamber music and piano works) translates a profound sound and infinite tonalities of special intimacy, "limpidity and purified beauty", from the more anxious anguish to the vast, horizontal and airy joy.
Your choice of this very famous "Impromptus in G flat M., D. 899" is somewhat risky in the sense that there are very varied and beautiful historical interpretations (you understand what I mean). But I truly liked your intimate reading.
Inspite of "romantic", this work does not belong to the family of the "étude revolucionary" of Chopin or to the piano works by that force of nature that is Beethoven. Therefore, it is not necessarily subject to great and dynamic contrasts between "forte" and "piano".
the first theme is very simple but impressive, and performed very well. it reminds me Moonlight of Beethoven, and it reflects the feeling of enjoying the nature, the feeling of the blowing of breeze in the last days of summer. perfect performance, thank you for sharing your video with me.
nice performance friend. Do you like Bach ? I went from romanticism to almost 100% Bach xD (I am focussing more on composing so that could partly explain my fascination with J.S. Bach).
Congratulations once again !!!, It's been very kind of you to have offered to me this present from God !!!. Schubert music and Vadim Chaimovich.... just a good maridage !! Great work!. It is just now when I am discovering the depth of the music by Schubert in the scores. Best wishes from Plasencia, (Spain)
Dear Vadim: delightful and sensible interpretation. A moving and enthralling experience to share your recital experience. Thank you for your generosity and kindness in sharing with us. Best wishes for a fortunate life and may the muses bless you with inspiration, devotion, enthusiasm and discipline to cultivate your art and develop it ever further to keep touching the lives of other sentient beings.
ok--I'm listening to this piece whilst looking at some random Youtube commercial of BEYONCE on this page ....it came alive with her beauty and the piano beauty :D
then she disappeared like a thief at a donut shop LOL ( cops love donuts )
Intense beauty, beyond words. This is true art, effortless and natural... For me, it is on a level with the old Horowitz Vienna perfomance, though SO DIFFERENT from his interpretation in its youthful passion...
Fabulous-you "abandoned" the piano and changed it into a voice...more players should do that. Too often they will merely "push the buttons" (just play the keys) instead of treating the piano as a voice, harp, drum etc.
Also, the beautiful room had to have been the perfect place for you to "sing" like you did here!
Thank you for a great video Vadim! I think Franz Liszt was inspired by this when he wrote 'O lieb, solange Du lieben kannst' (I'm not sure if I wrote the name correctly)
I dont like people commenting on 'good taste.' Very often it means they dont like an original or individual interpretation of a work. They prefer a bland standard performance. Fortunately this is a flowing expressive account with a nice cantabile tone quality.
Such a beautiful rendition. So transparent. In such good taste, so romantic and yet contained, and above all so expressive. Bravo my friend, and thanks for sharing. Would be nice to make music together in the future, who knows? Big hugs-
Hermoso, Vadim. Siempre me he cautivado esta música.
Thank you, my friend.

Dear Friend Vadin,
It's always a pleasure for me to get videos / music (good videos and / or music, preferably - that is the case!).
Schubert is a composer with a very special place in my universe of emotions, feelings and musical reasons (if I may say so).

Your touch and sensitivity emphasize this serene and quiet characteristic ... peaceful ...
It's good to hear different approaches! Congratulations!
Continuation of a good pianist career,
Greetings from Portugal
p.s. - I would compare the interpretation that I know by Maria João Pires, my compatriot, but I've seen this video is a "response" to her version...
