@MyDanDoo I'll agree with you that the pacing of the films has been good. I'll also tip my hat to the art direction (especially in more recent ones): they've been fantastic. I dislike the dumbing down that the films have recieved. most scenes have one purpose; either comic relief or drama or romance etc - never more than one. We've seen none of the serious (often dark & profound) character developement which makes the books so great. Without this development, the films are just pretty trifles.

@MyDanDoo You've just thrown a bunch of empty buzz words at us. Mentioning editing, cinematography and 'cinematic style' in this context means nothing. Every film has those things and some films stay true to their source material (Fight Club and Watchmen are pretty good examples - only had small changes). All the Potter movies have been bad, with needless cuts to the storyline. Example: in POA the nicknames are never explained, even though that scene was there. Only would've been an extra 30secs

It looks like the new one will be good, last year when Half Blood came out I was is Basic Training, and i couldn't wait to go see it. After a summer of hell at basic, you would think anything would be good. Well, like the beloved Furher, I hated it. David Yates takes out shit from the book and puts in shit that sucks, I know he's not the screen writer, but as the director your responsible for everything. This was a shit movie. Order of the Phoenix was actually a pretty damn good movie, I thought. It followed the book fairly well, eye candy of action scenes (when they are flying through the city on their brooms, Dumbledore fighting Voldemort, etc), and great music to get us into the movie. I was very excited for The Half Blood Prince, as it was probably my favorite of the books. Instead of a great follow up, David Yates takes a fat shit on us by leaving out some of the most important parts of the book.
