there are a few stories of cops making mistakes that day, but this isn't one of them. That girl was deliberately trying to provoke a police officer. Sure, they're only bubbles, but too often i see smart people trying to change the system in stupid ways. Stop throwing rocks, stop lighting cop cars on fire, and for chrissakes.. stop blowing bubbles in cops' faces!

Normally I'm all over police actions - WHEN THEY ARE WRONG.
This little girl was blowing bubbles right in front of these cops, knowing good and well it was going all over them, their faces, etc. It is just plain disrespectful to do this, and yes, if it gets in their eyes there's gonna be big trouble, especially when you damn well KNOW what you're doing here.
But again, the big guy told her to stop and she kept running her mouth about it, and apparently did it again.

It is in fact an act of barbarity because it's just not rational. Let me explain. If a cop drove by and someone between 4 to 6 feet away from you is blowing bubbles - can you ask the cop to arrest them? Officers represent the law. If this man cannot even handle a woman blowing bubbles what will he do in a situation of real violence.

@asexynurse no dont take the "crap" part too seriously. Look I had to cover events from the detention center to Spadina. 95% of the protesters did so peacefully and treated very poorly by police. There was maybe a handful at each skirmish that did what they could to incite a reaction. Some believe in peaceful protest and other factions subscribe to "direct action". And their own site suggested each had to decide how much they were willing to risk.

Blowing bubbles is peaceful protest to me, threatening civilians only invites violence, and contempt. What the officer should have done was to ask politely and tell the girl to put it away. While I don't expect police to reason with civilians, at least have the decency to be polite.

@skexis she was being childish if i have a point to make im not going to take a jar of kids bubbles and blow them at somebody im going to talk to you like a adult..and you say LACK OF RESTRAINT he told her to knock it off with a stern voice..spitting or any chemical that directed towards a cops is a crime...if someone spit on you or splashed a chemical at you your going to call the cops...COME TO MY CITY AND BLOW BUBBLES IN A COPS FACE AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS..JAIL TIME

those g20 protesters went there to start shit in the first place and thats what she was doing trying to get a reaction out those cops..and the camera guy was there just to capture the action just in case..i live in dallas and if you start blowing bubbles in a cops face i bet your ass would be eating concrete..i bet you didnt hear how they burn cars and buildings did you..but your so worried about a big black guy raising his voice and a little innocent looking white chic

@gearsloverguy1 You forgot about the part where he actually arrested her, after the fact, for a nonexistent crime. You've started attributing things to the girl that she never even did just to try to justify a complete overreaction.
You don't wield your authority as a method of casual discussion. It's as if he drew down on her for walking in his general direction. It's a lack of self-restraint that could get innocent people killed one day if he's not careful.
