TVZ is the best! I was watching that film "In Bruges" and this song was on there, so cool! It's the scene where they're doin coke and talkin about a race war with two monkey hookers and a racist dwarf LOL.
Steve Earle took it back, I never will: Townes is the greatest American Songwriter of all time, and I'll stand on top of Dylan's SHOULDERS and sing that to his mistress.
I biked from one side of north america to the other, and the night before I reached the east coast a massive storm appeared and I had to camp in it, and a guy was actually struck by lightning in his tent at the time. Woken up by the blinding flash of lightning at midnight in this riduclous storm, less than 100k from my destination, I put my mp3 player on random and it was the first time I heard this song. And I thought of folly, of human folly great and small and my own.
i once heard a story of a man who said "townes was the greatest songwriter that ever lived, and I'll stand in front of bob dylan with my shit kicker cowboy boots on and tell him to his face." personally i couldn't agree more, and I love dylan
@err0r alas, no. but I know a lot about his life and I know his songs. he was a genius, he was a good man, I'm sure, and he suffered so much. maybe, it's enough for a kind of Heaven? I don't know. but I hope it is.

So beautiful it makes you cry. How come nobody seems to remember Townes van Zandt? There should be a separate hall of fame just for him.

he was a genius. I hope - just for him, personally - there's a Heaven, and he's there now.

@maxadis Why, did you know him?

Haunting romanticism echted in surrealism. That is Townes Greatness and this is one of his finest compositions. Nice video work!!

@mysteria31 But that's two songs. You can only choose one.
