The thing underneath is a cheap 10 cm stainless steel ring I found in a shop, to raise it above the ground a bit. I cut a hole in it to get air in trough the bottom, to the holes in the Ikea thing.

What have you put underneath the stove?

It's in stainless steel, but it does get a little rust and miscoloring...but so far it has lasted half a year of usage about 10 times so far.
Does the Ikea... Erm... 'Container'? withstand the heat from the fire well? I have one but I don't want it to perish with the heat.
