Good job. You may want to work on a more interesting registration, though, and start softer. It makes for a more dramatic performance. I'm not quite sure I like the reed in the beginning, but then again it looks like you are somewhat limited in stops.

One thing that I say constantly about tempo on the organ is that it is dependent upon the response time and the accoustics you work with. This means that you perform at a tempo that fits the performance situation. Your's sounded like it worked.

Ce n'est pas Gigout, mais j'ai lu et entendu cette phrase de la part de plusieurs musiciens et non des moindres, et je suis tout à fait en accord avec cette façon de voir. D'ailleurs, s'il n'y a presque plus personne aux concerts d'orgue, c'est bien parce que les gens s'y emmerdent ! il faut oser, être audacieux, original, et... crédible.

Yes, but you can never play too much non legato IN THE PEDAL! I think that he did not think for the manuals, but the pedal should be more non legato. ARTICULATION!

This is a a romantic piece. Romantic music for organ is based on legato, except in the bigger intervals in the pedal!

True, but he plays legatissimo. It's ok to play legato, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't articulate. ESPECIALLY with these acoustics.

Hey, not bad at all! This is the first time I hear this piece being played on a Cavaillé-Coll. I would just like to say a few things. Firstly, try to feel the harmony changes more, that will help with the overall flow of the music. The last chords I would like to be held longer. Keep practising, and thanks for posting this! Only flaw I want to point out is the one which I struggled with and everytime I let this piece sit for a while witout being played still struggle with...there are two measures before the last section of the piece that are a transition and many of us tend to blow through them and kinda loose that perfect beat we had going for us. It was an excellent performance! Tres bien!!!

Quite good for one so young. It would be improved if (a) some of the fingering was corrected and (b) there was time to "breathe" in such a reverberant acoustic. Especially at the end, more time between the chords would be wonderful. In all, tres bien.

I've listened to several performances of this Toccata this afternoon, and one of the reasons I like this one: it is obviously a large instrument, but not a monster (only 2 keyboards - Klavier) and a limited number of stops. YET it is a wonderful, strong, and authentic performance. And notice, the music rack is down: he's playing this from memory.
