If anything this work provides interesting phychological and neurological questions as to how conciousness works. There must be a way to monitor the brain to see which parts are active when someone is 'remembering' past life events. This would show if they are remembering or just lucid dreaming.

More plausible explanation: The guy watched a movie and forgot about it but the memory was stored in his subconcious. How would the memories of a 'past life' get into your brain? If they are stored in the soul then people with alzheimers or memory loss should be able to remember things using their soul unless that too gets alzheimers. If everything about us from memories to personality is due to your brain structure(as experiments show) then in what way is it your past life, and what is a soul?

This was 7000 patients over a period of 40 years! There was also a number of years when he did not talk about any of this before he wrote his first book on this subject in the early ninties. Micheal mentions he got his start or his practice started when the Bridey Murphy case was being talked about. This was the mid 1950's folks. At this time he did not do past life regressions, did not want to have anything to do with it. Micheal was brought into this party kicking and screaming all the way.

His theory opens a more just world/universe than the Christian religion does. There is no heaven and hell--we all go to the same place and reach for the same goal, to finally be one with the source. We are all connected, therefore it is in our best interest to treat each other with respect and compassion instead of hatred and judgment.

Can't this idea of the past life regression be merely some sort of frequency match between one's mind and a dead soul's frequency? Of course, if one sets his TV channel (read his mind as a receiver) to receive Sky news only (read the dead body's emitted frequency), and in that channel, sees a movie (read dead soul's past life), it doesn't mean that he, himself, was the actor in that movie. @trantricity It is a MYTH for sure. Most people, Wiess included, cannot produce actual numbers of patients (they claim thousands) that have gone through their sessions. And there IS NO SOLID EVIDENCE OR RESEARCH behind this. It's just made up.

Does he have names, last names, addresses for every patient he hypnotised and recording of their voices saying the same thing. I did read Newton's books. It seems like his claims come ONLY from him. If you are a scientist, and you have a theory, you have to be judged by jury of your peers if the theory is solid. Otherwise, we can all make something up.

I think Newton would say that essentially there is no Heaven other than the spirit world, which is in itself a euphoric realm. From what I've learned by reading his books, some people stay up there for a long time but if they still have to fulfill their spiritual destiny they will reincarnate back on earth. Spirit guides though, and very advanced souls, will stay up there permanently, if I am not mistaken, or go to more advanced planets. Hope this helps answer some of your questions!
