@mechwarreir2 Go to "Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office" and in that folder there should be a application called "Equation Editor." You can put that in your dock and just launch it from there. If for some reason you do not have that app, then tell me so that i can upload it for you to download.
Thanks you sooo much!, My first MAC and I wanted to create a reference sheet for formulas. I created a shortcut to bring up "insert Equation" using the customize keyboard, but I think I will use your approach instead, thank you again
@86emiloz60 I know this is a little late and you may not need to know anymore, however, I will say it anyways. To fix this, open the editor as you normally would, then click on view, and finally click on toolbar. A check should appear next to the word toolbar and the symbols should come back.
Thanks so much! I am a math teacher and was afraid I was going to have to purchase Word 2010 for the windows side of my hard drive and constantly switch back and fourth to write lesson plans. Good explanations - very clear and helpful with the command keys too! By the way, do you know if I will be able to edit the equations when I re-open the document in word 2010 for pc's?
Thanks you're a life saver. I was panicking there for a moment that I wasn't gonna be able to do my math work because I thought there wasn't an equation editor. I just started school online this week thought it was gonna start off on a sour note. Thanks again :-)
omg thank you, i am studying for a maths degree, have had my mac for about 2 years and did not know that this could be done, i spent sooo many hours using my unis windows computers to do type up and now i can do it in my own home, thank you
@thaddadian Yes, i can yes used in pages 09, but i just don't how to create the shortcut :-) .. anyway thanks for this video ... it helps me a lot as I'm doing physics ..
Hey Thaddadian, I would just like to say one thing about word 2008... the equation editor sucks ass especially if you have to do a ton of calculations on the computer.
I would suggest using Maple 13 if you're gonna be doing lots of calculations. I can help you get it for free if you'd like. In fact, I'll send you the filefront link for it right now.
