  • Would any music artist or any regular Joe (like myself) get in any trouble if they decided to sing this song anywhere?

  • EXCELLENT, man I love your take on this song

  • Wow! Ang galing! From the 4th US Civil War Reenactor-Ft. Stielacoom, Tacoma, Washington.

  • wonderful tribute

  • I remember first hearing this in some (good) old Tex Avery cartoons. Now I have it stuck in my head and I'm from Massachusetts! LOL

  • Really great. I'm a mando beginner and I'm working on this song from the Fiddler's Fakebook. It has an A and B part but and around 1:15 you do a break that I don't recognize. Is it just a deviation on A/B, or something else?

  • the csa for ever deo vindice

  • velice pekne :) nice

  • will, i have to say, as a huge rounders fan and a fan of civil war songs, i not only loved your version of this but thought it was the best that i'd ever heard. nice job :)

  • Many thanks - the Rounders were wonderful - glad you liked this little tribute to them! :-)

  • Very well done 5******* to you thanks ..

  • Another gem from the vault of WillFly....this is just terrific Will...a truly authentic version of a catchy civil war tune...you're the master of accousticity my friend(my own word) lol! Well done buddy!

  • chapeau!!!!

  • That was one of my favorites that you have done! Great!

  • Great one Will. You go from strength to strength!

  • Fantastic. I like the way you can turn your hand to many music styles.

  • How funny is that and you keep amazing me with you ability! Big 5 stars on that one!!!!

  • Had me laughing there. Brilliant.

  • You were having fun there. As usual an excellent way to research the history however I had to read the lyrics in "standard" English ! :)

  • The original lyrics' style is somewhat hammy, to my way of thinking - and the Holy Modal Rounders probably felt the same, as their words (which I've used) are much snappier and to the point! :-)

  • Great fun, yes - and really well put together, thank you.

  • LOVED IT. I've been told its a post-Civil war tune but no matter its from that time and you did a ROCKING version of it! 5 stars!

  • 1863, I believe and, in the way that "Lili Marlene" was popular with both Axis and Allied troops in WW2, "Jubilo" was popular with troops from both North and South in the American Civil War. Strange, eh? :-)

  • @HenfieldWill Or, for that matter, the fondness which Abraham Lincoln had for "Dixie" -- only this is weirder. Goes to show, though, it really was a war of brother against brother (with the fate of yet another brother in the balance, of course).

  • Yes - great fun - I'm laughing too.

    Philip

  • I love all of your videos Will. But this one is just awesome, I love how much fun you're having :D

  • thanks Will, its a lot of fun but there is a lot of quality backing too

  • Nice one Will. This rings a bell as an instrumental hit for someone in the 60's (I think...)

Thanks for posting and making me smile :)
