Without wanting to belittle your musical interests, uploader, i feel that your metal vision is very narrow. You left out so many good female vocalists. The occasional video viewer will think this is all a girl can do within the metal genre.
somehow the owners intentions have been missunderstood here... maybe the music choices didnt help but he explained that already... if you look up gothic metal, you will find Epica and Nightwish, After Forever and Crimfall on your results... and gothic metal is a metal variant... if it was my video i would have chosen much heavier songs by the bands i have mentioned on my comment to prove my point... Death Metal is a very old and well established genre of Metal. There are many other gneres that fit into the Metal genre. This is not one of them. It's very nice Music, but it simply isn't Metal. Maybe Rock Opera? I've been listening to Metal for a long time....my experience tells me that this music simply doesn't "cut it" to be dubbed as Metal.

Metal bands can make ballads, and they're no less metal that more fast paced, more "brutal" songs. Also, as stated before, ballads that have slower tempo tend to give room for talent that these women have, so they're the logical choise for this vid

somehow the owners intentions have been missunderstood here... maybe the music choices didnt help but he explained that already... if you look up gothic metal, you will find Epica and Nightwish, After Forever and Crimfall on your results... and gothic metal is a metal variant... if it was my video i would have chosen much heavier songs by the bands i have mentioned on my comment to prove my point... Tarja and Simone are my favorites...

@neojimmy721 There is indeed a lot of gothic/symphonic metal in my list and yes I didn't take heavy songs but as I stated before, I'm trying to show off the voice of the lead singer here and not the band itself. Also I would never categorize Crimfall as gothic metal - it's folk metal afaik :-X Thanks for your comment^^.

@elvenglove No need to get personal. It is my OPINION. I never said anyone had to like it. There's alot kore to Metal than "Death Metal". Death Metal is a very old and well established genre of Metal. There are many other gneres that fit into the Metal genre. This is not one of them. It's very nice Music, but it simply isn't Metal. Maybe Rock Opera? I've been listening to Metal for a long time....my experience tells me that this music simply doesn't "cut it" to be dubbed as Metal.

Metal bands can make ballads, and they're no less metal that more fast paced, more "brutal" songs. So go ahead, get your head out off your ass, so to speak, and give room for some variety to the genre that you like to call "metal". Also, as stated before, ballads that have slower tempo tend to give room for talent that these women have, so they're the logical choise for this vid

You assimilate all metal with doom/death/trash metal. Check out the definition of power metal, see if it rings a bell about Nightwish for eg: "Power metal focuses on upbeat, epic melodies and themes [..] Power metal bands feature a keyboard-based symphonic sound, sometimes employing orchestras and opera singers".
Btw I don't understand why metalheads use 'pop' as a peiorative. Basic music genres are classical and popular, so metal itself is 'pop'.
