    GARRY SHIDER

    DIAPER CHILD, STAR CHILD

    GONE TOO SOON

  • @imbossyy1 Wow I didn't know G. Shider died. Thanks for sharing!!!

  • @DarkHalo08 your welcome

  • RIP/FIP

    GARRY SHIDER

    DIAPER CHILD, STAR CHILD

    GONE TOO SOON

  • Funkateer for live!

  • Garry Shider and Walter "Junie" Morrison,StingRay manohman

  • Man this song made me feel real good growing up. Man, I remember young Martin Cox at John Mc Claren elementary in San Francisco, Struttin to FLASHLiGHT, then this came on the school house speakers. When this song came out I was about 9 or 10 i thought they was talkin about a kids cereal that came out about that time. I'm trippen!

  • parliament is the best that ever did their shows are a piece of history i have seen them in concert a few times and i will die a better music lover for it .the stage presents of george clinton is what i would call god like as far as live shows goes

  • Feet dont fail me now!

  • YES....

  • Hear Junie singing with Garry. What a unique sound.

  • How many times did I see the Mothership land? I don't know but I'd do it all over again and bring my grandsons along for the education in real instruments, harmony, groove and an Aqua boogie affair!

  • Feet dont fail me now!!!

  • P Funk and LSD...winning combo everytime

  • @nebula34 tochae'

  • 2 people cant stand the funkalicious activities of Dr. Funkenstien!!!

  • They were so incredibly tight these years!

  • Great vid. But no offense, Jerome Brailey is funkier than Chambers, even though Chambers is also a drum god.

  • Sounds like Dennis Chambers on the drums. I can hear him playing his usual percussions at the same time he's drumming. Fantastic.

  • @meljr That wasn't Dennis Chambers. It was Tyrone Lampkin on drums along with Larry Fratangelo on the percussions

  • @s4ujxm Thanks for the correction. I thought it was Dennis after seeing the video of him performing on the same song when they were touring Germany several years later.

  • YOWL!!! I'm going to see him tonight in Cols!!!! SO EXCITED

  • P-funk is the truth of the matter!

  • They do this so well. This jam has a lot going on with it by way of instrumentals, vocals, etc.. George orchestrating, keepin'em in line and time......just luv the way they brought their music to life.... ....I don't know if music today can "get it on my good foot" like back in the day.. LOL!!!! 1979 I was 8th grade baby!! Remember this so well.

  • That'is really funny. I was returning from the City today, beautiful day, successful meeting, hit a "brick wall" traffic jam, didn't panic, turned on the iPod system in the car and out jumps "Freak of the Week!!! Next thing I know, fellow drivers around me, also stuck, began "jammin" in their cars. HaHaHa! Just like that, we have Parliament instantly turn an unpleasant mess into a GOOD THANG!!! LONG LIVE DA FUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A Vision, a movement, a purpose........" Gettin down for the FUNK of it " AMEN!!!!

  • We'd like to dance with yo dates....

  • RIP Gary...

  • @Spaniggles coleman???

  • "Shider" ....tell me you are just kidding right..?...:)

  • i was at this show. no one was sitting from the time they hit the stage. i think everyone was fucked up even the guards!!

  • @cbfunk54 fucked up or FUNKED up?

  • Gary Shider- One helleva musician- You kept it Funky brother. RIP

  • R.I.P Garry Shider the "Diaperman".

  • Rock dat sexy jeezuz Diaperman RIP.

  • rest in p, garry...

  • if your within a days ride to a funkadelic show you must go....

  • Chaos, Madness, Anarchy, this is the real funk, bad bad tune!

  • It was at the Cap Center and I was there!!! Kind of bothered me that George didn't sing lead during this live song; I KNOW it's his lousy vocals on the allbum version - lol

  • @JamFanHot Nope its the diaper man gary shider singing lead on the original. same as here

  • @blackrocknutt WHAT?! That sounds just like George. OK, I looked it up; lead vocals were given to Gary, George, and Junie. Never knew that. You were right.

  • This show's Uncle George at his best, the bands fallin apart, watch G.C the Driver of he MotherShip, lead this track and the crowd into the Groove.

  • I just love watching the old material when everyone actually made the groove happen for themselves. It's fucking bullshit and a slap in the face to every music consumer that has to "live with" the over-produced bullshit they call music nowadays.

  • dont hate.

  • @niggerfuckshit what's with the name dude?

  • @pittrage

it's all in the title, my name would have been that except it was taken

    /weird internet sarcamsz (it's a white thing ;) )

    PEACE

  • was this at the cap centre, landover? if so I was there!

  • THE 1 NATION IS THE ZULU NATION

  • And you know that from bronx river

  • Skeet is too good!

  • aint no party like a p-funk party cause a p-funk party don't stop. and it's true, they don't stop. they will play until they pass out on the stage. i found that out on a night I went to the concert and had to go to work the next morning...thank god for sick time.

  • @Cykomiser I went to shows in the 1970's when the concert let out at 3-4 am in the morning. I was made to go to school.

  • My 1st concert was this tour. I was ten yrs old. My older brother was in college at the time. I was scared, amazed, thrilled and happy all at the same time. I will never forget it.

  • yes sir!

  • FEET DON'T FAIL ME NOW

  • raw talent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great band. Everybody is so damn tight.

I'd say this version is so much better than the rather boring studio version.

Even though everybody is stoned and it seems like wild happening, the boys and girls are realy kickin'it - on the One !

  • I agree and disagree, the band is great but it takes them 5 minutes to get the groove on this set, listen again, you'll hear a little frustration in his voice, but as everybody kicks in, it is of course hellified to the end, long live the funk, oh, I really like the studio track too

  • 5 min? Man thats how they play this song live, great since the begining no problems here....great band great song, long live the p.

    -Atomic Dog

  • I have no problem, I just think the groove took a while to jell, I have been a musician long enough, and have been to enough concerts to know that there are good nights, great nights, mediocre nights, and yes a few dogs... so bow wow wow yippee yo yippee yea, get down on the one, and have a very fine day!

  • AWESOME!

  • Yo god, chill with all that homo-fo-bic language! Its really not needed! I will post both the remix and original version for you! Think about this... Obama is President and if G. Clinton himself had to stamp this one he would definitely say "paint the White House BLACK"! Its all good! Now let me find these tracks for you...

  • LOL...Yo god...LOL

  • u have no soul.... u are the nose

  • cant wait for February in baltimore

  • ready or not here we come

    this song kicks ass

  • whats that badass

    riff at the

    beginning?!?!!

    it sounds so badass.

  • Listen to Junie!

  • I saw them in D.C at the 9:30 club best show I've ever seen , and yes we are the funky chocolate city D.C

  • Say ONE NATION......

  • HEEE HEEE feet don't fail me now....

  • this ones 4 obama, ready or not here we come

  • Them boys were smokin some good stuff back then and probably still today. But they were and are hellova musicians!!!!!!!!

  • Who is the vocalist with the high voice? Glen Goines, maybe?

  • The male vocalist doing the falsetto? That'd be Junie.

  • It is Junie Morrison for sure! The credits say he wrote it with George Clinton and Gary Shider.

  • Glen died in 1977 unfortunately...his voice was unique, he was outstanding.

  • Glen died in 1984...

  • glen died in july 1978 - wikipedia article on him. he died during the making of the quazar album - a band with his brother.

  • 30 july dying of hodgkins disease

Jerome Braily also played in the band

  • Glen died in 1978

  • D.C mustav been a FUNK joint of the CENTURY.

  • I know your right. That must have been a wild place with George goin' off like this....

  • Are ya'll hip to one nation???? I don't think so......Shit I posted a comment over 2 mths ago and no one can get wit this ????

We should all be moved..........ONE NATION UNDER A GROOVE.......Come on now get up off yo ass.......Feet don't fail ya now....Do ya promise to funk......Get ready......Gettin down on the one which we believe in.......You can dance your way.......Come on wit it ya'll....Do you promise to funk????

  • Man this is great. George is trippin' on this one. I luv it when he tells the band to "mash down on it, push this shit all the way to the ground." Pick this shit up BABY!!! "Here's my chance to dance my way.....out of my constriction".......Feet don't fail me now.....Man, this jam will live on...That Clinton is a trip!

  • Who's everybody on the stage with George and Gary in this one? The singers, guy with the flag? And where are the Brides? Thanks for sharing this one.

  • That's Parliament/Funkadelic lol

Guy holding the flag is Ron Ford, the late Ray Davis(bass singer to the left of George), Dawn Silva(braids/Bride),Babs Stewart(Bridesmaid), Larry Heckstall (OG Sir Nose)

This the second generation Mothership lineup of P-Funk.

  • Thanks for sharing your knowledge. There's a lot I don't know. Happy New Year to Everyone!

  • I like junies signature tid bits on this clip, thanx...by the way if you can find his bread alone album let me know there was a jam on there called jock rock it was the shit ..ok bye
