  • how the fuck do i partition without using a freaking live cd

  • Dude, there are other ways to do this right? I saw another video on how the person did it on three partitions. They use the ubuntu loader though. Isn't it easier to install vista (windows 7) first before xp because you don't need a partition manager because win7 and vista you can shrink and change the partitions. I dual booted win7 and vista a few times and I installed windows 7 first.

  • @trumpeter1976 I ment to also mention ubuntu would be last because windows is a pain in the neck

  • Try ubuntu 9.10.

  • it is possible to do this without having to make your hard drive blank

    Windows XP

    Windows Vista

    Ubuntu

Are going to have a blank hard drive

  • You dont need a Partition Manager There is allready one in Windows xp disc!!!

I want to get my Final System like this,

    40GB IDE -> 40GB Linux

    80GB SATA -> Windows 7 beta

160GB SATA -> Windows XP pro as the PRIMARY OS

how I can Assign the OS installation and Boot Order things , as I hate to Install OS's again and again,

I like to know what will happen if I remove one Hard Disk from the System ?

How should I set the Booting order in the BIOS ??

  • Does Winndows 7 is slower than Windows Vista ?

    Please reply !!!

  • NO, windows 7 is 10000000 times faster the vista, im not just saying that, i know that, if you have a 64 bit PC go with the 64 bit version

  • I am about to do it with windows 7 , just 2 questions to make sure it will be OK. After I install XP i turn the computer off and put the new windows cd and it will let (ask/ automaticaly /where ) to install it in the new partition right? and the boot manager is something automatic right? I dont have to install it?! Tks great video

  • One more thing. After Ihave 2 system I can acess the media files and programs from each other??? should i have an extra partition just for media/ programs so that when I get rid of woindows XP when they release windows 7 i will have all ready in another partition then delete XP and windows 7 partitons...would it work? thanks alot

  • Can i ask a little stupid question? can i Download Windows XP somewere like i did with linux??? and can you change to xp form vista or from xp to vista??? Please Reply

  • hey i am wondering can i still keep xp cuz i don't want to go to to a lot of trouble plz respond

  • nice vid thanks

  • kooooooooooooooookooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooookokoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • Nice vid :D

can you add the download link for the window XP and vista?

    thanks

  • you can't or you are being ilegal. You have to buy the cd's

  • Not to say this video wasn't very informative but I would install ubuntu on a third partition so you have access to all files on your system, just a suggestion if you attempt this. It's just a wall I ran into using wubi.

  • great video :)

  • great video man

but why you switched to vista???

  • could u post how to boot a windows xp and Mac?

    thanks alot :D

  • dude like uuuuuuuuh ya

  • Very well done! thank you

  • Does it slow down your pc a lot?

  • O_o You're right! lol Doesnt even look like a girl.. XD 2

  • great vid!!!

  • i would like to do this, but i really dont want to clear my harddrive....

is there anything i can do without the chance of losing 200gigs of data?

  • dude your keyboard sounds so cool.

and your microphone is so clear.

    cool videos dude.

  • Thank you for this excellent guide - you have explained the process with great clarity...I now feel confident to install a triple boot on my pc. Great video *****

  • do you use vista ultimate or business

  • I think he uses Business

  • I tried ubuntu on my vista laptop using the built in wubi, guess what happened when i left my laptop on ubuntu, it went into stand-by, when it came back on, vista and ubuntu were both dead and corrupt, i had to reinstall from scratch and lost a lot of stuff, but luckily i recovered most of my files using recovery software, if you want ubuntu without your pc dying, actualkly make a partition and install it there, installing it into vista is a bad idea because your pc will die!!!!!!!

  • I forgot to mention i have permanent surface disk damage that CHKDSK can't fix :(

  • He said to remove all your files before doing this...

  • its not windows that automatically partitions its ubuntu lol

  • your a tool all you have to do is install windows xp then ubuntu which will notice that you have another operating system installed then you install vista

  • Have you tried that?I think not.Cause Windows doesn't automatically partition the drive if it detects another OS.Atleast for me it doesnt.

  • So If I wanted to install ubuntu(just that because I already have vista installed), I just need the ISO to install it? How would I take it off? Would it affect my windows Vista computer?(I didn't wipe it. It has all the programs and games etc.)

  • My triple boot will with EasyBCD...

is possible do a booted more with MAC?

  • so which partition manager program do u use?

  • Helpful.

oh btw, how much ram u spent on vitual machine to run all the os?

  • The problem with installing Ubuntu with Wubi is most of the time upgrades won't work. Also you can edit the grub's menu.lst file to add entries for Windows Vista and Windows XP and make them boot automatically which is something you did not mention. Do keep up the videos I try to watch all of them and I do hope you read these comments.

  • how do i get a vista cd when vista come pre-intalled on my pc

  • u dont you just get a product key

whne u need it you downlaod the trial then add the product key into it to reinstall it

  • would i be able to install vista the way it is now without an external hard drive

  • Will installing Ubuntu onto the Vista system that I have now, erase or mess up any of my programs that are already on here?

  • quik question... i have Vista 32-Bit already install can i just install Ubuntu with Wubi inside Vista and then with the Vista CD shrink the partition and make a new one were i will put XP and then Flag both as Bootable? im kinda n00b with partitions....

  • This is cool I will try it

  • nice 5/5

  • Where did you get your wallpaper from?

  • If you mean his cool wallpaper with the duncan thing he got that well his friend on youtube made it.

  • Does the Vista Upgrade contain the full vista install? My computer only came with the Vista Upgrade.

  • Don't think so. It's an upgrade usually from XP Home or vista basic or vista home premium

  • great videos!!!

  • Sorry, I wrote before watching the video properly.

  • Duncan you seemed to do it a hassle way. I formatted my PC. Installed XP in a 30GB partition, then installed Vista in another 30GB partition and installed Ubuntu on the left space.

I just used the partition manager on the boot discs.

  • you've pretty much explained what i did.

  • thank you!

  • whoa did you just update this or somthing, it showed up again on my hoem page, any ways. Nice vids dude your voice is very pleasant and relaxing sounding, like hypnotizing. lol i would never use this, but it solves my technolust

  • I don't think it's really a triple boot if you've got ubuntu inside windows. Good video anyways.

  • Triple Boot = booting into 3 operating systems.

  • Yeah. Triple Boot would be restarting your PC and booting up.

  • I better lite the Virtualization

  • Hey, this may sound lame, but what keyboard do you have? It makes a cool sound when you type :P

  • Just a compaq one which came with my desktop. It feels like a laptop keyboard.

  • Oh, cool thanks.

  • Cool

  • What's a good size hard drive for just the triple boot? Would an external hard drive help/be needed for extra space for other files/new programs that we want to install?

  • cool, i wouldn't do this but i do understand! thanks :D

  • when did you go back to Windows Vista? or is this another computer that you have?

  • great video

  • Help!I dont understand Partitions! I feel stupid

  • if u do that, can u still access the same files from the different operating systems or there are just separate files from each operating system?

  • Im not really sure but when you partition it makes it like a second drive so i think when you do this you can just goto My Computer and then goto the second drive like D.

  • o thanks, i need to know because i am planning to put xp on with my vista to see wich one is better, and see if my programs and files work better on xp than vista.

  • As far as i know the bootloader is located in the MBR of the disk (not partition) so Linux would overwrite the existing windows bootloader and add the other os into grub. Correct me if im wrong.

  • yeah thats right if you put ubuntu into its own partition, but installing from wubi it adds to the windows boot menu.

  • parted magic is called partion magic. thts wat i use

  • Parted Magic is free. Partition Magic is not.

  • oh yea i forgot. i got partition magic for free. (torrents)

  • admit to illegeal things, good job

  • yep

  • Duncan, your primary OS is Vista now?

  • Yup. I removed all the crap from it using vLite and it runs alright now.

  • my hardware is not compatible with windows xp :(

  • And nice video :]

  • this does eat up alot of your RAM....

  • you guys not understanding what I'm doing? I'll remove the vid if you can't follow it

  • hmm

  • but i think this video is very confused for people that never made somthing like this

there are much simple wideos on youtube how to..

this one was for geek only hehe :P

  • Woo first person to watch the video :D

Thanks for the video, i would try it but i only just got my pc back up and running.

    Tom

  • kool

  • Thank you soooo much! I was just looking into doing this!

  • I use dual boot XP/Ubuntu :P
