I feel the message of this video, I work in the meat dep of Walmart, and I can guarantee that there are over 200lb of meat are wasted weekly, let alone deli and produce.

An ugly fact.

the government know the issue, but it is ignored due to economics, in order to make food "precious" you need to decrease the supply, but when you decrease the supply, people lose jobs, and when that happens, people will not vote for the government, so the government is not being responsible to environment

These people are suffering and need help, sending food from 1st world countries is not going to help the problem. The only solution is to eliminate the unfair world debt that was handed to these countries over 50 years ago by racist governments at that time, so that they do not have to export their food to pay off this debt, Africa makes well over enough food to feed its entire population if it did not have to export so much. Most imported vegetables and fruit comes from Africa in my country.

When I'm at the grocery store, in the deli area, I look at all the food on display and wonder how much of it is unsold and gets thrown away..then I think about how many supermarket there are in this city (phoenix az) then in the country...that is a lot of food a lot of wasted energy in production, a lot of pointlessly slaughtered animals, and a lot of petroleum used in shipping ingredients and products that get discarded..then there are so many starving people..

I have done a lot of research regarding U.S. and World food production in support of my Minisistry feeding program. The world is, with present technology, capable of producing enough food to feed EVERY person in the world nine times over. Food is relatively inexpensive as regards "staples" such as Rice, Beans, Wheat, Corn, etc. The reason people are starving is political and cultural ignorance and cynicism. What a shame...

You make a very valid point here.... The major companies don't care about people starving ! They only care about 1 thing...PROFIT ! I have asked various 'food supply' companies if I could collect their excess or date expired food (including canned and bottled stuff) and all I get is 'Health and Safety' crap quoted at me! THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES... They trow away perfectly good food EVERY DAY...
