7 dislikes? really? I found this to be food porn. No perfect way of cooking a steak, but this is among the best. So many picky wankers on youtube, that criticise everything - fuck um'.
Cook the steaks how YOU like, and adapt tubes like this. I do them same, but in a flat bottom cast iron pan. With salt and pepper on the meat, and ground nut oil in the pan. Same cooking time though, 3 mins a side, perfect medium rare.
too blue for my taste buds,,, just a little tip sear each side at a high heat for 30 seconds each,, seals in those juices,, then cook too your liking,,
i've actually got into cutting up my steak now before cooking it and then stir frying it. I've started to really see how asian cooking techniques make so much sense. WHen you think food has to be in bite sized portions so you might as well have it cut into bitesized pieces already. CUtting up food on your plate makes a real mess of it. IF you think about it when you cook a steak whole you still end up having to cut it on the plate so why not just prepare it before it is cooked anyway
I am sure that the steak was delicious to you, and it did look delicious to me too until you cut it open. I do not like or eat any meat that is not cooked completely. It goes against what god say in the bible, that we should not eat meat with the blood still in it. But for those who enjoy meats not fully done, for each his own. GREAT STEAK COOKING I would have let it cooked until all the pink in it was not longer there though.
@Brakfrica what's wrong with composting? i'll chase down a calf, and eat that fucker raw, and i compost for my garden. what does composting have to do with anything.
It looks pale because he closes the lid. He is basically putting it in an oven. A true grilled steak is over very high heat over charcoal or wood and the lid is open during cooking. Interesting concept though
Thanks for watching. To answer your question, we do NOT soak our steaks in water. Any color difference could be due to several reasons: Monitor calibration, camera exposure, video editing & compression, and if meat is exposed to air it changes color and gets darker over time.
@NassguI Quality meat is marbled pink/purple and pale and NOT red. Most producers feed their livestock with mega-doses Vitamin E to increase the alpha-tocopherol concentration in muscle, it is an antioxidant that retards the conversion of r-myoglobin and oxymyoglobin to metmyoglobin; or use Anti-MRA agents or just use food coloring like red 40. Pale purple/pink meat is the natural color, super red is not.
@jbk6789 just depends how you like your steak cooked. I eat my steak rare, sometimes blue rare if its good quality beef. If it wasnt red in the middle I'd want mine replaced
question. what's the point of doing this on a grill then? why not just use an electric grill or a pan inside. there is no charcoal flavor produced anywhere, there is no smoke. i don't get why people do this.
@tewkewl Because the fat running off the steak burns up and smokes off, if you try to cook it that hot and that fast . Not to mention the grill acts like an oven in the process. If you tried to do that inside you'd smoke up your entire house by time your done and set off every single fire alarm in the process.
@lilblueeysboi It's cooked medium-rare, just like you're supposed to cook a steak. Ask any professional cook how a steak is supposed to be cooked and they'll tell you the same.
I'm assuming you've never even eaten a steak medium rare. You should try it some time.

You basically fried your steak in a pan without cooking oil. What's the point of a grill? You can do the same thing in the kitchen...

That steak wasn't room temperature when you threw it on the grill, was it?

Yum! I like more char on my rare stakes so I'll turn the stake 90deg at the 2m mark, let it sear another minute or so, flip & repeat.

Why... why would you cook a steak in a barbeque with a pan? Its 20 times better right on the grill.

all your videos, the steaks look so pale before and after grilling, do you soak them in water or something?
When I go to the butcher and have them cut, and take 'em home to cook, mine look 100x better than what's shown in this video.
And I never store steak in the freezer, always fresh cut.
