this is not about him! People can be unhappy & jealous about others' success and concerned about their own success. Whoever it was, whether yourself or Jordan Belfort in that situation, what this is about is how that person dealt with the situation and dealt with oneself, one's errors and came out successful.. the ones who fell victims to his lies or fraud, they were prone to their own greed, if not by Jordan someone else would have victimised them anyway. setting standards is what this is about

Clearly a clever guy, but i wouldn't trust the bastard as far as i can throw him. For all his talk and charm this guy ruined a lot of honest ppls lives who will never recover from his lies losing all the money they had.

@takewhole Clearly they weren't in control of their finances... many would argue it was their fault efor not doing their corrent due diligence - I would say it's a combo of the two. You can't argue the guy's one hell of an entrepreneur though!

I know Jordan from First United. He didn't "make a mistake"? He lied to everyone for years & years. He lied to his brokers, his clients, his regualtors (which I can live with) lol. But he is a total scumbag. Right now he has a phone room in La Jolla California selling fake SEO products. He will NEVER change, he just changes approaches and tries not to get caught. He is a major scum bag.

He might have had the wrong ethics maybe still does but he has a gift to turn money over creating cash flow threw what ever the skeem maybe 9 out of 10 people would drop and run away from opportunity taking the safer option which is a career in what ever !!

i've read both books and although I found them interesting, I think his life demonstrates how extreme wealth and greed are so reverred by society. and greed is the biggest, perhaps only, cause of poverty. and as for justice, i've seen people get more jail time for minor drug offences - and Jordan commited enough drug and white-colllar financial crime to put him away for life. but alas, cooperate with the FBI, rat on your friends, tell all, and he gets a mere 2 years. what kind of message is that

yeah the two year sentence is a DAMN JOKE. Just as you say, drug/gun offenses get wayyy more time than that (although I don't really have too much sympathy for drug dealers, but white collar crime isn't called WHITE collar crime for nuthin). I mean, just look at friggin MADOFF. he basically will die in jail, but for all the havoc and loss of confidence he caused, he should be publicly executed- no joke
