  • Airshows at Duxford in the 90s were so much better! The last Flying Legends I went to was positively sparse compared to the displays I'd witnessed in the 90s. Where has the huge balbo gone? What about 23 Spitfires formed up? A mosquito, Lightning, ME109, corsairs, 2 B17s I remember once! Last time the best thing was a canberra, and the Vulcan never turned up, and it was just spitfires and mustangs. Not that I'm moaning about them specifically, but there just seemed to be a lack of anything else!

  • The lightning was 'Happy Jacks Go Buggy' later to be California Cutie.

  • P-38 Lightning.

  • The Me-109G at the start crashed at Duxford, and has been moved to the Hendon aircraft musuem! if u wanted to know that is!

  • crash is such a strong word. i would use unfortunate landing!

  • Ur absolutly Corect! Im so used to that word, cause i go to see drag racing alot at Santa Pod Drag way if u know it!

  • The aircraft is a P-38 Lightning

  • Do u know what the name of it was called? was it Glacier Girl?

  • Sorry I don't know the name of the P38

  • Glacier Girl has not made it across the pond yet, I'm not sure of the P-38's name that you're refering to. Also note that Glacier Girl is in an olive drab paint scheme

  • @Eliotthecool at the time of this video the lightning was painted as "Happy Jacks Go Buggy", was subsequently repainted as "California Cutie", sadley crashed at Duxford in 1996 with the loss of Pilot Hoof Proudfoot

  • @Eliotthecool it was Happy Jack's Go Buggy (natural finish) and then California Cutie (olive drab). It was destroyed in 1996.
