This strike is breaking my heart. I do very much support the strike. But I wish MY work was unionized. At least the WGA has the power to shut things down, to negotiate, to make a difference. I worked for years in the nonunion trenches, being bullied, bought out and emotionally blackmailed by business people who refused to go union. It was horrible, and things broke down. Without a union or negotiating power, people WILL be screwed over and abused by the powers that be.
I hope the WGA has the balls to express the same steadfast belief in fairness when other industry unions go on strike. Personally, I don't think they're asking for enough. Nice job, Steve.
i dont know they say their middle class but im not so sure if they are i support if they make more money then they claim then they do have the right to ask for more.
Some of my friends are screenwriters and they are middle class, they should get more money for their efforts. I can see how the studios are just taking advantage of them on a daily basis.
i didnt understand the strike untill now we all love tv and movies right well i hope anyway the writers getting scrawed not fair i think now the producers or dicks im sorry be fair gave the writers thier fair share and stop the nonsence if you have children your really not showing a good exsample "KEEP FIGHTING WRITERS DONT GAVE UP"

Looks like the powers that be are hurting everyone now. Caterers and carpenters, Set designers and others are now starting to feel the pinch too.
