I see you've made this "random noise" accusation elsewhere (including the recent Guardian review) - I don't agree, this is basically built on two chords an augmented fourth apart.
@Yorkmackem I don't care whether its a diminished, augmented, suspended, major, minor, major seventh, dominant seventh, 9th, 11th or 13th. No amount of repetition and weak themes are going to make this into anything resembling Kate Bush. As for the Guardian, I think they have forgotten what real music sounds like.
@maccagrabme I see a lot of Kate Bush in Planningtorock, specifically in this song. It's not Kate Bush, it's a little.. sillier, a little more experimental and from a completely different era. This is hardly noise either. If you want noise listen to some Merzbow or Deathspell Omega. This is not that. This isn't even that experimental. Don't understand the comments, just say you don't like it :P
@arasharfa If you like this, look up Emilie Autumn (songs like Misery Loves Company). In fact, I firmly believe there would NOT have been an Emilie Autumn if there wasn't already planningtorock.
@mariatechnosux looked into it, but must say emilie autumn, even though interesting in some areas falls completely flat visually as something extremely cliché and tacky.
Uhm, I know, I'm swedish myself, and I definetly know that this girl isn't Jay Jay, which is a he. But my shock was about her having done a remix on the knife's song. I did not know that.
I don't know if the video is supposed to be viewed on its own. I saw planningtorock as part of a The Knife concert in Vega, Copenhagen, where the videos where projected on a huge screen in the background, with her performing in front on the stage. I guess it's supposed more to be part of a total visual/audio performance.

No amount of hype is going to make this sound any better. Kate Bush makes music, not a bunch of noise like this.

Is it just me or does the music in the song "Keep the dog quiet" by Owen Pallett sound a little similar to this?
Nagiruoh84 1 year ago
@Nagiruoh84
Haha, funny you made the same comment on the other song's vid :)
Yeah, they sound alike. One might have inspired the other but I don't think we can call that plagiarism. People call to rip off way too easily.
