@aussiespwa That's where you start looking into the outdoor dBi high gain antennas as opposed to indoor antennas. Plenty of good YT tutorials on accomplishing this.

don't use WEP, its easily cracked, best to go with WPA2-Personal, never setup with zero security, otherwise people will connect and use up all your bandwidth

you can still keep it unsecured, even if you choose not to broadcast your SSID.

@willage2 When you setup a booster the only thing it will let you use it None and WEP. Not much of a option there.
