great! well done! could you give me a hint where did you get the wheels?? we plan to make a DIY Segway, but need this kind of size wheels (like original has), not small wheels. what size are they, 12"? 14"?
I should have video of version 2.5 up shortly. I did a complete redesign which made it much more stable but I ran into some other structural and organizational problems so I'm currently rebuilding it to be stronger and better laid out.
Not really. The hardest part by far was programming it. But it's literally just made out of wood, legos, and an old wheelchair. I easily had it up and running in two weeks and could've done it in a week if I hadn't had to wait for parts.

Just a PVC pipe attached to a rotation sensor. It was a simple but really good way of doing it.
