But because of that little scene with Cloud killing Sephiroth, the Planet changed its mind and allowed humans to live.
Also Aeris was at the end of the game to signify that she was still helping the team by influencing the Life-Stream to aid Holy...since Holy had been overpowered and turned against the Planet. Even though Cloud and them did all the work it was showing that her influence in the story went beyond her life though without Cloud and them she couldn't have done anything to help.

Its all good. I swear every time I play this game I find out something I never noticed before.
Dyne's story was rather tragic. I loved how the writers misdirected you into thinking that Barret was up to no good, only to find out what was really going on. Its brings depth to his otherwise one-sided character. Final Fantasy VII is brilliant in that all the party members have their own story—each rewarding in its own way if you play it through.

Since they added more to the story about before FF7and a little after, they really left it open which is annoying because I really want them to get to the bottom of Lifestream, Jenova gene along with Genesis and Sephiroth with the future issues in the story.
It would be disappointing to just leave us with the Dirge of Cerberus ending. So I hope they will work on a FF with a sequel giving us that little bit more and not let us think what would happen instead.

If the planet is like a body, when he fell into the makostream, he was an foreign object, a splinter if you may, in the body. The body then clotted it and rejected it.
The makostream can change formats from fire to ice, lightening to quake. In order to change the format into something useful to Sephiroth, he would have to hurt the planet. Magic like restore, hp+, mp+, stat abusiers, everything to heal to planet, he would use.
The "Makostream" is the lifestream. He did fall into the lifestream at Nibelheim, when cloud toseed him in.
He got popped out at the Northern Crater and was encased in Mako. The reason he ended up there was because the planet was STILL trying to heal itself from when Jenova landed.
That is how sephiroth knew that when meteor hit the planet would use the lifestream to heal that point. He somehow was going to "absorb" the lifestream to become all powerful
Mako/Lifestream can concentrate and make all kinds of materia. This means the mako/lifestream is capable of acting in a manner nessecary to its needs.
The mako/lifestream did to Sephiroth as a body would do to a foreign object in the body. Dispite Jenova or not.

I think they should hve shown an aftermath when the lifestream destroyed the Black Materia. I mean when people first passed the game which is like more than 10 years ago people would be wondering "What just happened?" Until Advent Children came out that actually showed us what happened after but that took ages to show us an outcome.
I finished the game yesterday, used to play it when i was younger but failed to kill angel sepiroth.
Thought that i should give it another try and finished it yesterday as i said. Did it with Cloud, Red, Barret and they were all on lvl 56. Quite easy actually :P
But i do still have some questions about the ending movie, did everybody die? I mean Midgar looks pretty f*cked up at the end. So all die but not the planet + red? :P
Also, Rufus (Cait Sith controller) had everyone in Midgar go under the plates, into the slums. They actually tell you this in the game.

Nah, the makers of Final Fantasy VII, Square Enix, said that in order to do a remake of FFVII they would have to turn around and get all of the original workers of the first game back on the project and to do so would cost quite a bit of gil (puns, xD). So, instead they're going to focus on finishing the rest of FFXIII, and then we'll see where they go from there.
i think this is the best game ever made. I played all themarios, all the sonics and all the mastercpices of nintendo, sega and microsoft. No one is so dee in the gameplay and ni the history. Maybe onli metal gea solid snake for psx or metal gera 3 for ps2 go close to this perfect game. Anyway psx had so mutch killer application that none console nowdays has. Final Fantasy VII is the best game I've ever played, and I played a lot. It's the most touching one, it has the greatest characters, that wonderful materia system and the best storyline and it's so addicting! I remember playing for hours and hours, suddenly realizing that it's dark outside and that I totally forgot to eat or drink anything. Word cannot express how much this game means to me. ;_;
i think FFVII is a little overrated, it's one of the best FF and one of the best games, but i think FFX and Ocarina of Time has the best story, but that's just me =P
And the most mind challenging question of all. Why the hell after FF7 can't they use their materia and stuff. I.E. Knights of the Round Table, Restore, Bolt 3. What the hell happened? Did all that materia return to the planet or something?

Many people consider FF7 the best but it's not, they love it for the Manga look and the Mini-Games. FF9 is the most respectable for havig the Look of the Series. Besides the story, graphism, system (battle, weapons, eidolons...)and the many different people (on Gaia and Terra) are superior to FF7.

Um, KH is OUTSIDE the continuity of FF7 and every other game it has contact with. It's own little story, but none of it has happened truly for any of it's participant's universes.
Oh and can anyone tell me who g(aka Genisis) is? I read some where that he was the "first" sephiroth, and in DoC, it talks about him in the G reports. Also, in the secret ending, he is in it.
To get Vincent you have to talk to him when Cloud and part reach Neibelheim while tracking down Sephiroth. On your way to the underground lab inside of Shinra mansion, on the last screen before going thru the door that leads to the lab, follow the north wall running slightly upwards.
There is a hidden door out of view until you head up towards it and inside is Vincent. You have to talk to him and explain your situation. Afterwards Vincent will go back to sleep. Run out and continue into the lab. After finishing in the lab, on your way out stop by Vincent again. If you said the right things earlier, Vincent will now join your party.
You don't need to do all that. I was about lvl 60 with Cloud, Barrett and Tifa and it was easy. If Cloud has the Ultima Sword and 2x Slash then just keep using that and summon with the other two.
Knights of the round plus mimic is a good combo ;] Keep someone to heal the wounded... Not too hard if you know what you're doing. Good song to finish the battle to aswell...
no, Lucrea is Sephiroth's mum and Hojo his father. Jenova was an alien being and Jenove cells were INJECTED into Sephiroth (while he was in Lucrea's womb)

you should master kinghts of the round table and 4x summon and put them in one link and bam you have an ultimate summon. but you have to master them first it will take a while

I got this video from a website, but I beat the game wih Cloud on level 72 (the rest of the party was 7 levels behind). Don't forget to get Omnislash... it's time-consuming, but it's definately helpful in the final few battles.
Go to the Battle Square at Gold Saucer, earn 64,000 battle points, then trade 'em in for Omnislash (I never understood how it's possible to sell a skill :P).

The most baffling part, I think, is why Aerith's face is shown at the end. Is it referencing to the beginning of the game? Did she come back to life? Or is the game just trying to show us that the planet is saved because of her summoning Holy?
It's probably easy to answer those questions now, but back then... it was vague.

Nah, the makers of Final Fantasy VII, Square Enix, said that in order to do a remake of FFVII they would have to turn around and get all of the original workers of the first game back on the project and to do so would cost quite a bit of gil (puns, xD). So, instead they're going to focus on finishing the rest of FFXIII, and then we'll see where they go from there.

i think this is the best game ever made. I played all themarios, all the sonics and all the mastercpices of nintendo, sega and microsoft. No one is so dee in the gameplay and ni the history. Maybe onli metal gea solid snake for psx or metal gera 3 for ps2 go close to this perfect game. Anyway psx had so mutch killer application that none console nowdays has. Give me back my psx and my 16 y.o. i wanna play again and again, in the xmas holyday, this game. SUPERB!

Final Fantasy VII is the best game I've ever played, and I played a lot. It's the most touching one, it has the greatest characters, that wonderful materia system and the best storyline and it's so addicting! I remember playing for hours and hours, suddenly realizing that it's dark outside and that I totally forgot to eat or drink anything. Word cannot express how much this game means to me. ;_;

Ditto to a comment above, I adore this game. I played it first when I was 12, so completely immersive and heartwarming. I miss the days when a game could mean so much to you that you would skip meals / play till 5 in the morning, crash, then get up again 3 hour later to play more. Love it!

Many people consider FF7 the best but it's not, they love it for the Manga look and the Mini-Games. FF9 is the most respectable for havig the Look of the Series. Besides the story, graphism, system (battle, weapons, eidolons...)and the many different people (on Gaia and Terra) are superior to FF7.
However I still love FF7.

Um, KH is OUTSIDE the continuity of FF7 and every other game it has contact with. It's own little story, but none of it has happened truly for any of it's participant's universes.

To get Vincent you have to talk to him when Cloud and part reach Neibelheim while tracking down Sephiroth. On your way to the underground lab inside of Shinra mansion, on the last screen before going thru the door that leads to the lab, follow the north wall running slightly upwards.

There is a hidden door out of view until you head up towards it and inside is Vincent. You have to talk to him and explain your situation. Afterwards Vincent will go back to sleep. Run out and continue into the lab. After finishing in the lab, on your way out stop by Vincent again. If you said the right things earlier, Vincent will now join your party.

You don't need to do all that. I was about lvl 60 with Cloud, Barrett and Tifa and it was easy. If Cloud has the Ultima Sword and 2x Slash then just keep using that and summon with the other two.

Knights of the round plus mimic is a good combo ;] Keep someone to heal the wounded... Not too hard if you know what you're doing. Good song to finish the battle to aswell...

no, Lucrea is Sephiroth's mum and Hojo his father. Jenova was an alien being and Jenove cells were INJECTED into Sephiroth (while he was in Lucrea's womb)

I got this video from a website, but I beat the game wih Cloud on level 72 (the rest of the party was 7 levels behind). Don't forget to get Omnislash... it's time-consuming, but it's definately helpful in the final few battles.

Go to the Battle Square at Gold Saucer, earn 64,000 battle points, then trade 'em in for Omnislash (I never understood how it's possible to sell a skill :P).
