This is the Penny I remember...athletic, great defender, could easily score 25 and get 10 assists in a game...man, if it wasn't for injuries this guy would have been one of the greatest to ever play in the NBA...
PENNY was the MAN period. He was born and raised right down the street from me. Binghampton Bound!! (one of the toughest areas in Memphis)! He is home grown and truly talented. An amazing talent!
This video is good man. Penny was the shit in his day. People forgot what he used to do to Jordan back in the day. This cat used to be my idol. Kobe nor Lebron could see this cat in the 90 era trust me. Keep em coming I'm live in Iraq so shit like this is crazy too see. Good music too everybody else puts lame music on there video!! 1cent heaven sent!!!!
Oh wow, I must forget so I can remember again. LOL I watch these clips periodically, IDK why that section looked new to me. Lookin forward to new Penny vids. Thanks man!
Much props to the one who composed this video and codos on comonation this video and track. I just want to point out that at the 1:54 mark you"ll see one of the most sweetest jumpshots and forms of all time, at least in my oponion that is not to step on peoples toes so to speak. Anyways, It's AMAZING just how explosive he was earlier in his career and how much he was a head of the curve so to speak. Also it's worth pointing out not just his talents and finace of the game but just how fearless
I tell you this...if penny didn't get that injury all those years ago, Penny could still be playing today and could have still been a threat late into his career. I don't think Miami gave him a fair chance. After they waived penny they signed luke jackson who did very little for the team. Penny averaged 3.8 ppg for MIA (in very limited minutes and played games) while luke Jackson i think averaged barely a point (0.6 ppg or something like that). I miss Penny.
Now over 900 views. That's great. Again I've never expected that many from this. As a fan of Penny, I have to say that I wanted to pay homage to a player who never had the proper end to his career. One should never end his career waived by a team. I really wish I could see him play one more time, but I know that it's out of the question. However I will say this...PENNY FOREVER!!!
Over 500 views. This is amazing. I never thought this vid would get this many. What can I say but YouTube Nation loves Penny Hardaway. Oh and I love how Penny's 94-95 top 10 uploaded by 1987Hawkeyes has over 155,000 views.
I recently heard a rumor that with the trading of VC to the Magic, they are looking to offload Hedo Turkoglu. With this came a rumor that Penny is going to work out with the team and possibly sign him to a 1 yr contract worth the NBA minimum. I would be happy this occurred, but I doubt this will go down. Your thoughts are welcome, but don't go trashing with remarks like "Penny Sucks!" or "Why old men wanting to come back!" he can still play. He was better than the Heat gave him credit for.
Great video! Penny had some one-of-a-kind skills! Penny could go man to man on anybody, Jordan, Kobe, Hill, just to name a few! Keep the videos coming!
You've got that right. This guy gave MJ a hard time in the 90's and not many could do that, heck in the late 90's up to early 2001 the Penny killed Kobe Bryant. Remember in the 2000 playoffs when Penny averaged just over 20 ppg against the Lakers, after taking down the Spurs. Too bad his career was cut short. I wish he could make at least one more attempt at a return. I miss you Penny.
penny was my second favorite player behind jordan back in the day. it was truly amazing to see the raw talent on that magic team and penny was the real showcase. nice video and tribute to a player who sadly never reached his full potential due to injury. respect the skillz.
you might notice that there is a part in the video where MJ has his head down, that happened after penny scored on him in the 96 playoffs. This was not a mistake made.
i love penny he had so much GAME. i miss the old penny and grant hill.

Penny just had the misfortune of running into a great Bulls team including Jordan. If not, he and Shaq would have one that series.

yeah i highly doubt that rumor has any truth to it
magic ended up with penny a second time when him and ariza got traded there from the knicks - and magic cut him
if they ddnt want him then, why would they want an even older and even less mobile penny hardaway now
