Back then there was no defensive three second rule, so the defence could always run a zone or stack the inside to stop him, now days the key is left wide open, yet players still dont score as many points, wich makes you relise how great players like chamberlain, kareem and jordan really were..

Wilt was just too strrong and too big for that era as he said himself. If he played in the 80s and 90s he wouldn't be as dominant as he was in the 60s. Jordan retired in 93 and 98 that is the only reason Malone is ahead of Jordan in points. About Kobe passing Oscar, Kobe is a better scorer than Oscar...

"fundamentally sound" is only valid within the context of the player's own era - that's a lot like knocking Isaac Newton because he had no knowledge of relativity or aeronautics... same thing with "ball handling" but even more so.... that was completely different because the skills rules were enforced until about 1980.....

back then there was no such thing called "defence".. i mean if u watch the old nba videos 99% of the shots are either hook shots or some1 shooting over another person. they let each other shoot. Today you rarely see hookshots and they all come from big men. its nothing to see some1 shoot over another back then but now when u get shot over its a highlight because it rarely happens now.. exept for kobe, its natural for him.

@YoungMoodyBaby REALLY? Kobe went to the foul line often enough in that game. In wilts time foul calls were pretty uncommon and defense was much more physical and agressive. In fact defensive coordinators encouraged players to foul.. and he STILL manage to score with that kind of pressure, watch the vid, watch the post moves, the heigh difference was not that serious, the defense was still good.

Jordan's 69, and Wilt's 100 will always be greater than Kobe's 81. I want to see Kobe score 100, then well talk.

@tothebeaty0 LOL are you serious? Today refs call fouls on the stupidest things...NBA was much more competitive back then...now its so easy to get fouled and go to the free throw line.
