Shows you know a lot about horses. Plenty of horses place their ears back in concentration. Kinda like a dog learning a new trick when they try to figure out what the new command means after demonstrating it to them.
Well, here's a great example: when's the last time you saw a dressage horse complete a test without putting their ears back when performing a higher level move? I will admit, because he lacks trust with his partner, the horse does over react to directions. Instead of camly turning he rears up in a way others would normally perveive as a threat.
@skybluepainter I think I'll quote from a familiar source here in response to your fallacious question:".Plenty of horses place their ears back in concentration." If that horse isnt concentrating on avoiding the handlers whip, then horses must be more ADD than I thought.
its good, but not hard to teach a horse to follow you, my pony won't STOP following me(its really annoying tryina get out the gate, and yes it has company, 10 other horses) and this show is appaling, have a look at the "final" bit of the show, bad horsemanship, and the horse wants out
Poor thing had its ears back the whole time....

@skybluepainter Maybe, but how do you know this horse is one of them? Dont ad hominem me, it makes for a poor argument.

lol. That's what it looks like when people try to catch my boarding barn's resident stallion, only less kicking.

No. Just find some snak they totally love, like an apple, carrot or something your horse likes enough to follow you. (Mine loves tortillas)
Then the stick will make them go up and loooottttssss of repetition.
