That's why I love it! The very fist time I watched Iron Chef, I was convinced it was a spoof. Nevertheless, I got really, really into these battles. And they always make me hungry. To me, it's the perfect balance of serious and silly. But now I'm starting to sound like one of the judges, heh.
Henry, look for King of Iron Chef 2 videos to see Sakai v. Morimoto. Archo89 has them posted, but not in the playlists. There are multiple rounds (each with 5 parts), so you have to look for round 2. I think round 1 is Chen v. Kobe, but it has been a long time since I watched them.
Acutally, this Challanger Chef had very confident, macho look as one of the judges said during the cuisine testing... He was a confident man in his skills...
first i thought the girl judge was cute and elegant, then when i saw her eating... damn, she looked so coarse in table manners and was never elegant at all!
You know sometimes I think when the Iron Chefs lose the chairman takes them in the back after he is drunk and slaps them around. Which is why they always seem worried when judgement time comes around xDD
Nah, kaga loves it when the challengers win. He didnt show it so much on this one, but if you watch others he has a huge grin on his face. It makes the show more "accessible" when challengers win. If the Iron Chefs won every time it would be boring. It'd seem scripted.
