Cui Jian is Korean, he was of Korean dissent, his parents were Korean. But he was Chinese, in that he lived in China, grew up there.

Cui Jian is my favourite Chinese artist. He's a mastermind revolutionary artist, and even though I myself don't speak Chinese, I can just feel- it's like you can just feel the cries of rhe angry and oppressed subculture coming through in his music, you know?

Cui Jian has nothing to do with it even if he is Korean Chinese. He represents the deep in side culture of China of the 1980s. it is not entertainment but art. He is the spirit of Beijing' innovative culture, inspired many young musicians and artists.
