  • such insensitivity to movement has rarely been displayed in public...

  • GGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

  • Better than grinding :D

  • The music is all wrong. "The Bump" was a part of RnB funk songs in the early to mid 70's- a few years before the disco craze.

  • Pretty cool

  • HOLA, SOY DE PERÚ, Y LES COMENTO QUE ESTE BAILE TAMBIÉN LO PUDE VER POR PRIMERA VEZ EN UNA FIESTA DE BIENVENIDA A LOS CADETES DEL BUQUE ESCUELA DE LA MARINA DE GUERRA, ALLA POR EL AÑO 1974. ME ENCANTÓ, PERO POR SUPUESTO, NADIE TENIA IDEA DE COMO SE BAILABA, PERO UN CADETE DE LA ESCUELA HIZO LA DEMOSTRACIÓN DEL BAILE Y LOS PASOS. LA VERDAD QUE FUE MUY CONTAGIOSO EL RITMO Y LA MÚSICA. lO QUE HE PODIDO NOTAR ES QUE LA MÚSICA ERA DISTINTA A LA QUE BAILAN EN EL VIDEO, CON OTRO RITMO Y MAS ALEGRE.

  • I saw you guys in August at the Uptown Grille in Commerce and I loved watching you dance! Very cool :)

  • renafan> all this bump arty farty stuff is rubbish In UK it was just another disco dance that was freeform and just for fun set steps what a load of cobblers hust wish the dancers inthis video didn't look so roboticsuppose thats what you get when you take freeform and put set steps to it, the bump we did was more erotic and rude than this lot

  • @Angie7417 suppose you must be another small minded yank who makes comment that they don't know whether they are true or not. duty to learn to dance? where the duty involved we dance because we enjoy it ..if its a duty for you then maybe its time you looked for something you enjoyed, A yank having the nerve to condemn someones weight (incidentally compared to most yanks we are skinny) thats truly hypocritical, and although we eat well (oh my we do know what vegetables are)

  • @BumpIsBack

Here is how it happened. Janie Buckingham (Watson) and I were at a frat house party in January 1974 during January term. There was a live band and the floor at TKE was very crowded. Janie and I were dancing and accidentally "bumped" at first, then did it more deliberately. Soon everyone on the floor was following our lead. It was a great night. And to my surprise, a few months later

I caught people doing the bump on TV. Very surprising that it took off as fast as it did.

  • I saw you two at the Plymouth Michigan Fall Festival Sunday afternoon, Sept 12, 2010. You two were a pleasure to watch.

  • Yeah it shocks me too about how many people have never heard of it. Even people that were old enough back then when it was going on. They had bump contests back in the 70s.

  • thank heavens we didn't do the bump like that jeeper it makes watching paint dry seem exciting

  • @realjuliauk Yea well realjunk your comment is about as appreciated as much as a fart in a phone box! I'm sure your life is about as exciting as watching ice melt at 33*.

    Kenny Nash

youtube KENNY NASH "DESIRE" to bump as great as these two !

  • @kenenash Oh grow up and keep you adolescent comments to yourself if you think that is great you never saw it done well by so many

oops did I miss out bad language ? maybe I have few more brian cells than you do

  • i love it....ya'll young uns don't know about this, lol

  • Do share. What "cool bump moves" are you referring to? This couple's style is completely unique and cool on it's own. I have seen these guys live; they are very entertaining to watch! For all the dance aficionados, please do enlighten us with your cool bump moves. I would like to see your style too. Can you post a video link so we can see the cool bump moves you remember? I am sure Jonas and Laurie would love to see your cool moves too. Thanks!

  • Funny - I was dancing the bump in the discos in the 70s - and they left out all of the really cool moves (in my opinion)

  • this was so cuuute :D:D

  • GET IT !!!!!

  • Contact improvisation meets "the bump"! Well done fusion.

  • Nice, but put a little SOUL in it....:-)

  • So this is The bump...Interesting.

  • yup

  • Excelent, I was around at the time of the dance but these two have taken it to another level. well done!!!

  • Omigosh, these two are amazing. Met them last night after watching them - literally made my jaw drop. SO much fun to watch.

  • Nicely done!

Does look like a good workout, too.

    Thanks.

  • wow...they defy the laws of dance. i'd get tangled up and probably end up accidentally hitting my partner....

  • This is pretty crazy stuff. I have never seen anything like it. It is no wonder you burn calories. Creative and fun

  • I remember doing the bump, it was the best contact dance ever in the seventies, bring it back I say.....

  • That pretty neat!
