My hubby and I could out bump these two any day! We learned our moves in NYC from the street. These two are professional. Kudos though for keeping it going.

HOLA, SOY DE PERÚ, Y LES COMENTO QUE ESTE BAILE TAMBIÉN LO PUDE VER POR PRIMERA VEZ EN UNA FIESTA DE BIENVENIDA A LOS CADETES DEL BUQUE ESCUELA DE LA MARINA DE GUERRA, ALLA POR EL AÑO 1974. ME ENCANTÓ, PERO POR SUPUESTO, NADIE TENIA IDEA DE COMO SE BAILABA, PERO UN CADETE DE LA ESCUELA HIZO LA DEMOSTRACIÓN DEL BAILE Y LOS PASOS. LA VERDAD QUE FUE MUY CONTAGIOSO EL RITMO Y LA MÚSICA. lO QUE HE PODIDO NOTAR ES QUE LA MÚSICA ERA DISTINTA A LA QUE BAILAN EN EL VIDEO, CON OTRO RITMO Y MAS ALEGRE.
renafan> all this bump arty farty stuff is rubbish In UK it was just another disco dance that was freeform and just for fun set steps what a load of cobblers hust wish the dancers inthis video didn't look so roboticsuppose thats what you get when you take freeform and put set steps to it, the bump we did was more erotic and rude than this lot
@Angie7417 suppose you must be another small minded yank who makes comment that they don't know whether they are true or not. duty to learn to dance? where the duty involved we dance because we enjoy it ..if its a duty for you then maybe its time you looked for something you enjoyed, A yank having the nerve to condemn someones weight (incidentally compared to most yanks we are skinny) thats truly hypocritical, and although we eat well (oh my we do know what vegetables are)
Here is how it happened. Janie Buckingham (Watson) and I were at a frat house party in January 1974 during January term. There was a live band and the floor at TKE was very crowded. Janie and I were dancing and accidentally "bumped" at first, then did it more deliberately. Soon everyone on the floor was following our lead. It was a great night. And to my surprise, a few months later
I caught people doing the bump on TV. Very surprising that it took off as fast as it did.
Yeah it shocks me too about how many people have never heard of it. Even people that were old enough back then when it was going on. They had bump contests back in the 70s.
@realjuliauk Yea well realjunk your comment is about as appreciated as much as a fart in a phone box! I'm sure your life is about as exciting as watching ice melt at 33*.

youtube KENNY NASH "DESIRE" to bump as great as these two !
Do share. What "cool bump moves" are you referring to? This couple's style is completely unique and cool on it's own. I have seen these guys live; they are very entertaining to watch! For all the dance aficionados, please do enlighten us with your cool bump moves. I would like to see your style too. Can you post a video link so we can see the cool bump moves you remember? I am sure Jonas and Laurie would love to see your cool moves too. Thanks!

The music is all wrong. "The Bump" was a part of RnB funk songs in the early to mid 70's- a few years before the disco craze.

Funny - I was dancing the bump in the discos in the 70s - and they left out all of the really cool moves (in my opinion)
