  • you shouldnt have to drill or tap anything, are you talking about what you need to install the side saddle?

  • i just got this gun. it doesnt have mount screws in the top of the reciver. do they make a diffrent kind of mount or do i need to drill and tap treads?

  • I am getting this gun. But my local place has it "on sale" for $220. where did you get it for $156????

  • @nokiddingobama I got mine from budsgunshop. com.

  • Thanks for the advice and tips. Just got my 88 today used for $156, I subscribed and thanks for the vids keep em coming.

  • just curious i recently purchased this gun except im not to familiar with the maverick model is there a tube extension for it

  • @wishaniggawould69 I dont think they have a tube extension for the Maverick 88. Or at least I have not seen one yet.

  • @jermz999 thanks for tha help

  • thats a nice 88 . I just bought one and put a hogue pistol grip in it....my 88 just has a single action rod so i couldnt attach the hogue forend, solid gun at a great price !!!

  • Is it fair to say that you can build an 88 into a 500? Or are there differences that are difficult or impossible to change in the 88?

  • @TheMedievalMan The differences I am aware of are the saftey and the foreend. the saftey is on the trigger guard, as appose to the top tang saftey on the 500, and the forend on the 88 does not come off, The 500 forend comes off. Those are the only differences I am aware of.

  • @jermz999 Any reason you didnt get the heat shield with ghost ring sights from ATI?

  • @FullmetaljacketJ No reason, I guess its just persoanl preference. I wasnt a fan of the way they look. Plus I had already had the regular heat sheild on it.

  • What specific side saddle will fit on a Maverick 88? I want to buy one but I know not all will fit correctly I have the 7+1 Security model. Which Specific Side saddle and brand should i buy?

  • LOL... what are pre-holed drills?

  • @brianminkc They are drills that are pre holed.....duh

  • whats that above the mosin?

  • @dasdew2 Its an Sprinfield Model 15. Its an old single shot 22lr.

  • @jermz999 better than a bb gun

also is it a good idea to get knoxx recoil reducing pistol girp (no stock).

  • @dasdew2 I dont know much about their pistol grip, but I hear good things.

  • do you know much i could get a 28inch barrel for?

  • @stallingbullet Your proabaly going to spend around 150-200 for a barrel. Check midwayusa . com

  • @stallingbullet Be better off buying another maverick

  • Comment removed

  • can you hunt with this gun?

  • @stallingbullet Sure you could. You could purchase the 28 inch barrel for it as well. Then when your done hunting, You put your short barrel back on for home deffense. At least thats what im planning on doing.

  • thats cool, i also own a maverick 88 and a mosin nagant 91/30.

  • I have a mosin also lol

  • is that a 7 62 54 on the wall ? please respond

  • @akadj1 Yes it is. Its my Mosin Nagant 91/30 7.62x54r. Good eye:)

  • @jermz999 thanks

  • Did the shield become lose after firing a while? looking into getting one, but the one with the iron sights attached, but if it gets lose i think ill avoid it.

  • @dirtyminded604 No It didnt. It stayed on through many shooting sessions.

  • @jermz999 hey they odnt make foreends for the mavrick 88 dued to the action bars connecting it to the fore are grip rather than the cyliender to the action bars but get piccatinny rails and tap some holes on the right middle or whatever angle you would like the picatinny rails and then nut and bolt them and but a pstol grip forearmgrip , mavricks 88 only downfall no forearm assessories but if you see inside once taken apart the forearm you can see where you can place picatinnys screws n bolts

  • Don't waist the clowns time lmao!!!!! Do you know if you can use a choke tube on that model

  • @bigrob18772 No chokes.

  • how much was that ATI extending stock?

  • @billieveable It was 90 bucks plus shipping.

  • @jermz999 how much for the pistol grip???

  • @runhorun I got the pistol grip for 25 bucks.

  • I have the Knoxx stock on mine and cause it's a compression stock it dampens the kick down a lot. My brother in law's AK has more of a kick now then my 88

  • how do you mount the shell holder and is it a ati shell holder?

  • @boozeye66 The shell holder mounts by removing a couple screws that go through the receiver. Its very easy. It is a ATI shell holder. and the instructions that come with it are very easy to follow. I am not handy at all and don't own many tools, and I was able to put it on in about 10 minutes.

  • @jermz999 hi, i just bought an 88 and want a shell holder that mounts like this, could you give me a link please?

  • @gpsupersport Hey bud. I have the tacstar side saddle on mine. I cant post link for some reason. Just sent you a PM with the link and site.

  • @jermz999 OH thats what i figured, i know theyre pretty pricey compared to the ati buttstock holder. I decided im going to purchase one of the tacstars though.. Do you ever feel it gets in your way when using the gun?

  • @gpsupersport Nope. Never gets in the way. I really like it.

  • @gpsupersport Go to your local dunhams, they have em there you can buy them and they are very easy to put on, goes right into your stock!

  • some of the maverick 88's were field models that came with a diffrent forened yours is the security model and dosnt cover the reciver at all mine was a field model that i made multi purpose security or hunting. i had to dremel a little out my forened to let the slide come all the way back

  • you think you can do a vid with installing the heatshield?

  • Did you have to do any extra drilling or technical work to mount the TracStar Side Saddle? How would you rate the install as far as an easy installation goes? Any advice would be very much appreciated!!

  • @Highflyer2250 No extra drilling was needed. It seems like it might be a difficult install, But it was surprisingly easy. Involves taking out a screw here and there, But everything you need comes with the side saddle. Literally took me 10 minutes to install. Very easy to do.

  • Its looking good jermz... what do you think of the ati folding stock? The one thats folds over.

  • @Ramos2905 Thanks. My buddy has the ATI folding stock. Although it looks cool when folded. Shooting it while the stock is extended kind of hurts. I still wouldn't mind getting one for myself. He really likes his. I probably would have gotten the folding stock if I hadn't had found this stock on sale.

  • It's nice that shotguns are so affordable so you can use the money to accessorize. Maybe I missed it, but how much did you pay for the side saddle? I want to get one for the Mossberg 500. Oh yeah, funny thing: I was searching for something on a gun forum and I saw a post from you about your CZ 75B. I guess the internet is a small world. lol.

  • @Riflemanm16a2 lol Yeah I frequent a few forms. The side saddle was 30 bucks. There are more expensive ones out there but this one has held up just fine. As long as you use some sort of Gun tight for the screws. I installed it in 10 minutes. Nice and easy mod for the money.
