Do you just use sheet metal screws to mount the top brackets for the actuators? Or do you notch a hole out beside it so you can get nuts and bolts through and all of that?
I'm curious because I'm having such a hard time figuring out the best way to do the trunk on my 06 Impala. Keep up the badass work man! too got damn cool!
@darrell078 337-535-0123 Monday through Fri 9-6 and Sat 9-3. Just ask for Dan. I get really busy a lot of times so you might have to leave your number with Tammie (She'll Probably answer the phone) and I'll call you back asap! Sorry so long to answer on Youtube. As you know it has been income tax season and I just get buried with work. I spend so much time working I don't get to play on my computer. lol
@atxcadillacking I have a company custom make them for me. I sell them for $199.95 each for a 12 inch rail. You can get the rail any length I charge $10/ inch on rails. So say you wanted a 16" rail it would be 40 bucks more. I also have a kit with 2-12" motors, illuminated switch, relays, pinswitches, wiring and basic instructions for $499.95. Call me at 337-535-0123 and I'll tell you more. Ask for Dan.
I love seeing all of your work, and I'm glad you put videos up on YouTube. It allows my imagination to run wild. I installed pop trunk myself on my 06 Impala, but it's just so slow. Going to end up putting a faster actuator on it, and changing the way my brackets are set up on it. I am curious, how do you install the brackets on the trunk lid? Welding on a trunk lid with the thin sheet metal they use seems nearly impossible.
most old schools squeek like hell & makes the install sound weird.i try to lube the joints and dampen the echo in the 5th ,b/c the 5th echos the motor all in it.what helped was thin rubber grommets on the base bolts.it cancelled some vibrations that were caused by the motor.
Very nice work man ....love it mayne
