Extremely well edited, with the pace of the mannequins’ movements speeding up subtly as his buzz (amphetamines?) recedes. And even if one is getting the drift before the final punchline, it’s delivery is still shocking. Well acted (simply played), and cutting off before even the protagonist fully comprehends what has happened is brutal: perfect for the short shocker.

Why does there have to be a "message"? Do you always want to watch a film and be TAUGHT or TOLD something to feel? Some of the best art is the kind that leaves you feeling a little confused and lost. Do you need a topic to be addressed in order to enjoy something? What if the filmmaker had said "this film was about racism". Does that make it better? No. Just watch it and take from it what you will.

Very well executed, for the most part, although the ending is somewhat anti-climactic & predictable in a way (not many directions it could go). The music is especially creepy & not obtrusive.

My take on the whole thing after seeing the ending is the driver dude took a massive dose of speed in the car and his senses & reactions are heightened & super-fast, which is why everyone appears as nearly-motionless mannequins. By the time the cops come, his buzz is dead.
