Flip! I've been a Softs fan for years, but have never heard this album before, (because after disliking Seven & Bundles I gave up on listening to anything newer). So I'm quite surprised by this song in particular. It sounds almost like by beloved ELO!
It's the fashion for Soft Machine purists to put this album down, but it is possible to love and admire many genres. Isn't an anthem like this a perfect backdrop for Alan Holdsworth's soaring solos?
Pretty good, even if it sounds as if these guys listened to Dark Side Of The Moon a few too many times.

Allan Holdsworth is such a beast. His legato is just elegant.....

Sounds like something you'd hear in a James Bond movie (and not one of the good ones).
Even so, it's hard to complain about another nice British jazz-rock piece.
