  • Anyone else thinking back to the good old popeye cartoons?

  • Yijjjjjjjaaaa

  • It's just Perfect! :)

  • Awesome! It's just Perfect!

  • This was one of the first vids I seen on YouTube several years ago on my cousins computer. It prompted me to go buy a computer, I still love this vid!!

  • I like the minor key ending, I do that a lot when I'm yodeling. I hope the fiddler gets a chance to explore klezmer /gypsy music.

  • BRILLIANT

  • @mulleck54 Thank you! this such one of the very first videos we posted on Youtube, it's from such a long time ago.... glad you like it!

  • @TheBachands And I've been watching it since the day you posted it, still one of my favorites.

  • BRILLIANT.

  • Not sure if I really liked the minor version of turkey in the straw. Made it sound like some gypsy indian tune or something. But that fiddler is good.

  • Fiddler = Amazing

  • Wonderful!!@!!!!!!

  • I love this video!!!! May I use it on my website as a great example of playing the fiddle and acquainting people with some of the favorite tunes of the past.? We are to launch soon. It is a family oriented website, clean fun. Will let you know when we launch. Thank you for review of my request. Cheryl Williams,San Antonio, tx.

  • Love the Medley of the three tunes!

  • Very nice fiddle! Pretty strange o susanna!

  • The key change at the end was cool

  • Sweet !!

  • Love it!

Didn't think the hornpipe was specifically Nth American.

  • @andieslandies It was specifically western European and north American.

  • Wonderful!

  • I really like this performance, especially the "Turkey in the Straw" bit.. Doing it in the minor key gave the final phrase a really sweet, sad sound.

  • Made it sound Russian haha :P

  • Who knew "the Sailor's Hornpipe" had words?

"We'll have another drink before the boat shoves off, we'll have another drink before the boat shoves off, we will go to Mother Hackett's and we'll pawn our monkey jackets, and we'll have another drink before the boat shoves off."

  • He says: "We did that in a minor key for all the ......... in the audience".

What does he say? I don't undrestand it!

  • Sounded like "'Gods' in the audience."

  • "goths"

  • I think he said "Counts" (vampires?) maybe?

  • for all the goths out in the audience

  • Reminded me instantly of Alice in Wonderland

  • awesome

  • Excelente, realmente la chica del violin se le ve la técnica con la que lo hace, le suena estupendo, parace que le gusta bastante el bluegrass!!! y el resto del grupo la acompañan muy bien. Suena espléndido!!

  • I'm in love... again!

  • musica ed esecutrice meravigliosa, stupenda, bellissima...

  • Who is that woman??? I want to marry her...

  • Are you stupid, or just plain retarded. I was talking about the song. Read the title. Watch the video. I don't pass judgment on the turks. I'm not danish. Right now you are making your fellow countrymen look pretty stupid.

Turkey in the straw, the third song. On the second pass, they dropped it to a minor chord progression, and the guy explains why in the end. I hope this teaches you a lesson about writing ignorant things. Maybe do a sliver of context check next time.

  • Ouch!!! if I was him I would delete my comment and never return to youtube world...

That change to minor key sounds cool, it changes the mood completly. Great players.

  • indeed.

  • I was wondering why they dropped turkey to a minor. Apparently it's for all of those self loathing goths. I love bluegrass.

  • Sailor's Hornpipe is also called Jack's the Lad.
