There are billions of planets in our galaxy, but probably not so many that can harbour life. The size must be big enough to keep a dense atmosphere, the temperature must allow liquid water and there has to be a magnetic field strong enough to keep the radiation out. Considering that during 4 billion years of evolution only ONE species on this planet has ever developed what we call intelligence, the chance that there are other beings like us, near us, at this time is extreamely small.

There are billions of planets in our galaxy, but probably not so many that can harbour life. The size must be big enough to keep a dense atmosphere, the temperature must allow liquid water and there has to be a magnetic field strong enough to keep the radiation out. Considering that during 4 billion years of evolution only ONE species on this planet has ever developed what we call intelligence, the chance that there are other beings like us, near us, at this time is extreamely small.

I find it interesting that the first I have heard about this is in the second to last chapter in Genesis Revisited by Zecharia Sitchin. Upon digging I found quite a bit of info on this topic. It seems like our (American) media and government never really put much out about this topic. I personally think this is one of the most amazing stories ever. The loss of both Phobos spacecraft indicates to me that some other species either was or still is on Mars.
It is astounding. Phobos was thought to be an alien moonbase back in the 60s. Then when the joint Soviet-American spacecraft were launched toward it, they both disappear. Big coincidences, or aliens? I believe the latter.

There are two things that may have happened. First, another country intercepted it. Or, another life form intercepted it. We as Earth people are new to space exploration. There will be many obsticles that will become learning expieriances. All things in time.

Yea, isn't it so very strange that both were lost for the silliest reasons ever? NASA's explanation is that both craft were erradicated owing to power failures. C'mon, what a load of %&#@
One should also not forget that USA probes have magically "disappeared" at Mars then at any other planet.... Same thing for the Soviets. WHY???

Unlikely. The object which Phobos 2 photographed was 19 MILES in length....
That's nothing to laugh at. The amount of engineering & science involved in making such a behemoth of a ship, even in zero-gravity, is LIGHTYEARS beyond our current material science.
And it's so strange that the Phobos 2 vanished after it detected a heat source. It is truly a shame that this incident is so ignored. It is honestly the smoking gun in my opinion...and it comes from a highly official source: the USSR!

No doubt the U.S.A. has some very advanced technologies being kept a secret, like hypersonic flight and who knows what else. But the ability to construct 19 miles wide ships, anti-gravity etc, I will require proof for that and not just rumours. And yes, that quote come from John Lear, who I suspect is a CIA disinfo agent snorting crack.

If the Chinese probe "vanishes* like its Soviet and American counterparts, then we need to ask why this issue does not receive enough attention. It is simply so unbelievable that such an astounding chain of events is so completely ignored by the media and ufoology.

Maybe if the Chinese probe is unsuccessful in reaching its target and the people who sent it are sure it was a technical / astrological problem we should create a multi-national probe, with multiple independant parts.
If on the other hand, they think someone or something is trying to stop our exploration of mars maybe we should take heed. At least until we can send something a little better and more resistant than what we are currently sending.
