As someone who has built his own computer, I can assure you that the true rip-off lies with buying a Mac. The hardware is completely overpriced, and you're essentially paying for the OSX which I can buy, and load onto a PC for $30 :)

well I have windows 7 and is nice and practical I'm very happy with it. my pc come originaly with vista and it was not so good, but is another strory with windows 7 is like a new computer I personally recomend it .

pcs are encased in plastic, the hardware is not made of plastic retard. hardware spacing is used in gaming computers, and lower end pcs to save money on cooling.
PC ppl are always talking specs and how macs are overpriced blah blah... like someone who's overcompensating for a small winky, the difference is Mac is a BRAND, like Toyota, Hermes and Coca Cola. PC is generic becasue the main dealers focus on things like specs instead of the image of the computer. there's nothing wrong with generic or brand named goods. but think about this:

Photoshop doesn't run on linux without WINE like OSX can't run GIMP as is. Macs are just more convenient and easier to use for general purposes than either Win or Linux. Yes linux can do pretty much anything but it's not how much you can do, but how well you do it and OSX does what it does very well.
More convenient? Please! If that were true, Apple wouldn't be relying on Bootcamp as a crutch for a piss poor lack of software and open-endedness. And seeing as how Snow Leopard lost terribly to a Bootcamped Windows 7 in a side-by-side CNET comparison, I'd say the odds are firmly stacked against Apple.

@xXJeReMiAhXx99 you should see the process it takes you make it. they take a solid block of aluminum, and spray water at it really fast to make it into the right shape, and then sand down the sides, and polish the whole thing in a dull finish. then the hardware components and screen are fit into it. wheras with pcs, they build a frame, put the hardware in and screw pieces of plastic all over it.

well I have windows 7 and is nice and practical I'm very happy with it. my pc come originaly with vista and it was not so good, but is another strory with windows 7 is like a new computer I personally recomend it .

@TheUberDeity no need to get emotional...OSX is a free BSD unix base.if you go that route comparing OSX and linux, then you have to say that linux is just a tricked out version of a unix kernel.
Photoshop doesn't run on linux without WINE like OSX can't run GIMP as is. Macs are just more convenient and easier to use for general purposes than either Win or Linux. Yes linux can do pretty much anything but it's not how much you can do, but how well you do it and OSX does what it does very well.

@brainslurper I agree that in general Macs are overpriced for their respective hardware profiles, always have been, and not easily modified by the user. my overall point through all this even to Uber was that if Win/OSX/Linux boxes were given to 3 seven year olds and had to install the OS, the same programs and access the same interent sites and run the same tasks, the OSX one would do it easier and be less problematic, which most general consumers deem important

@xXJeReMiAhXx99 you should see the process it takes you make it. they take a solid block of aluminum, and spray water at it really fast to make it into the right shape, and then sand down the sides, and polish the whole thing in a dull finish. then the hardware components and screen are fit into it. wheras with pcs, they build a frame, put the hardware in and screw pieces of plastic all over it.

@brainslurper dude it's called a case and out of the 7 pcs that i've had 0 have been made out of more then half plastic infact the only plastic part was some of the front panel, aluminum is no damn luxury and a aluminum case can be bought for even $40 tho at such a low price the quality might not be the best
