  • Why are the Chinese and Indian bamboo flutes so different?

  • What is this flute called? It sounds different than a dizi.

  • @vibratehigher It's a DIzi, but in different key maybe.

  • Sounds a bit like oriental or klezmer! I love it!

  • I was given such a flute.

    Spontaneously I called it

    Flute of Happiness

    it will make me happy.

    I am so honored!

    My devotion to this sound!

  • what a miracluous sound

so many words, could never be expressed better,

emotions, that have found a language,

deepness, softness, beauty, pure sheer beauty.... thank you, a thousand times, for this sound

  • very beautiful ;D

  • Is this a particular type of flute? Do i have to get a particular type to get those notes? The flats and sharps?

  • wonderful sound

    awesome

    bravo

    :P

  • This really has similar variations to the Maqam (Traditional Arabic style of music). Very reminescent of the Middle East or Persia.

  • yeah i thought the same thing i could hear this song in a bible story like the prince of egypt or something.

  • @GatameOne bible stories??? ew....don't mix decent chinese music with the filthy bible :) there's already enough christian rock to go around -_-

  • @PorkAndBeansAndFish This is coming from a guy whos username is Pork and Beans and Fish.........please.

  • @06gsxr750stunna Yes my thoughts exactly.

  • @06gsxr750stunna you mean the Maqam has similar variations, chinese culture out-dates every modern countries lifetime

  • @PorkAndBeansAndFish True Chinese culture has been around for millenia, but from an objective perspective, this piece just has more of a Persian feel to it versus traditional Chinese folk music. But the music does fit in perfectly with both cultures.

  • @06gsxr750stunna this is a music about the road of silk, which Connecte middle east and China, a lot of middle east cultures came in to China then

  • beautiful

  • so wondreful!!

you are staying a moment and think when you are listening, and you discover all the things that you question about. This music is soo worderfull and it comes from the soul of the 1 than sings not just is singed to be singed. it's clears your self!!!

  • Those who do not understand that this is real heart music will never know what real music is, i am not even chinese and for the 10-th i've litened it looks like the first.

  • so perfect

  • Hauntingly beautiful.

    What key Dizi?

    Eddie

  • i liked the first part better.

  • Correct me, if this tune has middle east flavor?

  • @001think sounds like it. As it's about the silk road I imagine it contains all the influences from the different cultures along the way. A couple of thousand miles or more I think

  • The best I've ever heard!!!

  • wow that's so beautiful. this makes me want to get a bamboo flute because of how beautiful it sounds. i so want to try

  • That blew me away. A taste of something mystical.

  • Nice try but need also . wot idk

  • NICE

  • I want to buy this piece, anyone has an idea where to find it ?? the website mentioned above is in chinese only.

  • @MahaNaimNYC

You can use online google translator if you are willing to do some detective work as to what parts of the page interest you, or you can use a multitude of programs to 'grab' the streaming media. The latter being for backup purposes only ;)

  • This song is soo relaxing I love it! I hope someday to convert to regular flute to bamboo flute.

  • Love bamboo flutes. This is amazingly perfect.

  • i am from indonesian. very very nice..so deep. WONDERFULL

  • wonderful...thank you.

  • aiya!! 谱有没有????

  • Music is universal, live therefore changing continuously.... it's some how math define by poetry, if you like.

  • @pmussiett Its the unity between math and art. To describe music as art is to fail to include the mathematical precision. To describe it as mathematical arrangements of sound is to miss the spirit of its expression. It defies definition. It defies even being undefined. It transcends culture, and yet it is its culture that gives it a face.

  • oh my god this is so sweet

  • what happened to the tang. i keep hearing new tang but their music sucks. CHinese need to remake their own music so rules and adds to the repetitious snobby crap from europe.

  • i am doing an important presentation on cultures. and my group choosed shinto japanese wedding. is this song appropriate 4 d wedding?

  • that's great, but it reminds more on turkish traditional music than chinese... anyway, this man plays awesome!

  • @ortodox989 this song is about the desert of china and the desert is located at northen china, where interactions with mogolian and turkish is common. "typical chinese style" are mostly south china style and other part of china have different music style. I don't think sharing some characteristic in music with other culture is a bad thing, cause that means we were at peace and doing trade and comunicating , rather than at war in the history :)
