You should really get an aftermarket wastegate for that thing man. Hate to see that big turbo go boom:( Compressor surge is really bad for the impeller. Nice Truck though!

Not a blow off valve, it's the excess boost from backing up through the turbo when the throttle body closes under boost. Not a big deal, just does a little damage to the turbine and bearings. There should be a bypass valve on them stock but it's not a huge deal.

wow that would be a brake stand for one and let me know when you surge you turbo to much and blow the turbine its called install a waste gate or you can blow your turbo either way...early warning listn to it when he lets off to much pressure not enough release

powerstrokn89.......A waste gates not gonna help release all that presure when you let off after a good buildup of boost..it does that if you build up 5 psi.....It needs a blow off valve.. its not good when you have the exhaust side trying to spin one way when your inlet is trying to stop itself because theres no where for that excess air to go/.....he needs a bov

@gotboostduramax1 no one puts blow off valves on turbo diesels those are for ricers. if you dont want compressor surge just let off the the accelerator gradually instead of coming right off it
