  • Ashokan Farewell is THE most evocative song of the Civil War...and, yet, .no-one whoever fought in that great conflict ever heard this tune,...

  • @Baruc23450951

But it wasn't written in the civil war. It was just used for the CW series on PBS.

According to Wikpedia, it was written in 1982.

  • @scavenger51...I actually knew that and that's why I said..in my first message...that "no-one who ever fought that great conflict ever heard this tune".

What I meant to say (originally) was that AF is THE most evocatibe song in the Civil War TV series ...meanign the one produced by Ken Burns)

This is what happens when your brain works faster than your fingers !!!!
