  • you know society is about to get flipped up on it's ass and shattered into a trillion peices when sesame street is too grown up for kids!

  • Evidently "herothegirl" didn't watch the same clip I did, or she's biased against Fox. For the record, since you were too upset to notice, Smith was upset with what was being said about Sesame Street. Good grief!

  • SESAME STREET IS GREAT FOR KIDS!!!

  • republicans hate kids learning i mean how will they brain wash them now??

  • What people don't see is that the people who want to spread PC to control and suppress the public are the same people who promote and generate anti-PC campaigns, news stories and general attention. Why would they support and help with the rejection of something they actually want? Because if people see and hear everyday that it's being recognized and something's been done about it, they'll stop doing anything. A small amount lost equals bigger gains because everybody steps down and lets it go.

  • people like fox and this dude need to piss off. who give a fuck if cookie moster eats cookies. i learnd C is for god danm cookie. and oscer the shows that you should not let people step all over you! that guy and fox are need to screw off!!!!!!!!!!! sorry for the bad words but this is just retared!

  • I miss letting little kids see the old characters like cookie monsters i mean kids like Ussien bolt came out of that generation it couldn't have been to bad what happened to free thinking people

  • Why do the characters need to be happy i don't walk down the street and always see happy people i mean come on they need to know the world isn't all sunshine and rainbows

  • Someone PM'd me about my comment... Though I can't imagine why, they wanted me to remove it... Whatever lol that's alright with me

  • @penisgrease Ahaha, I was just being funny, m'dear. Hence the "freaky rant of death over".

  • So in other words, hide the truth....? Sounds easy enough. I loved the book 1984, maybe we'll all be double plus sad after watching Sesame Street.

  • Sesame Street is not at all what it used to be. It sucks now, but that may be sympomatic of the anally PC world we now live in too.

  • @dawn98silver so look at you now, what happened?

  • Government tells you what to do more and more each passing day... just talk to somebody who is 10, 20, 30 years older than you.....they will tell you.

  • That news guy sounds like a duch.

  • what the hell is this. new stuff is ok but kids are gonna want to see the old shit. cookies, big deal, everyone eats cookies, a pipe, who's dumb enough to have a pipe, it's a choice, there's just a lot of humour in sesame street and that is what the legendary Jim Henson was aiming to get across. trust me as a kid, i loved the old episodes, the new ones are lacking some things, like stories etc. The media are simply trying to pick on something else, dramatise it and make money off of sesame stree

  • You can't change how the world once was...

  • To quote an excellent online article about this issue:

"The disclaimer doesn’t say, 'Do not under any circumstances let kids see this stuff because it’s bad for them.' It just says it 'may not suit the needs of today’s pre-school children.' Now, if you had watched these DVDs, you’d know that the first episode includes a slow-moving, seven-minute segment on milking cows with droning, repetitious narration. Does that sound like the kind of thing today’s kids would sit still for?

    (Continued)

  • @zvermilyer3

"There’s also a film sequence about unsupervised children playing in a construction site. We could debate whether or not watching that is damaging to kids, but can you blame Sesame Workshop for covering themselves by putting a disclaimer in front of something like that?"

What's more, this news report is innacurate. It gets all of its information from an article in the New York Times. The author of said article was BEING SARCASTIC.

    (Continued)

  • @zvermilyer3

    (Continued)

The producer who said Oscar should be treated for clinical depression was making a joke! Get a sense of humor, people!

So before you start getting angry, make sure you've got all your facts straight, okay?

  • Comment removed

  • What a joke. I watched that stuff as a kid and I am not fat from watching cookie monster gobble down chocolate chip cookies. I think political correctness has gone too far.

  • @Sp33dyD3m0n

If you bothered to watch the newer episodes, you would know that the things you've heard about it being politically correct aren't true. Cookiee Monster still eats cookiees, at least once in every episode. Although the newer episodes aren't exactly the same as the older ones, that's because today's kids aren't exactly the same as kids in the 70s. Sesame Workshop, who makes the show, constantly does research to make sure the show will be educational and fun for today's kids.

  • Not for kids?what the hey!sesame street is great.and the old episodes are classics & part of tv history.theres nothing bad on them thats bad for little kids these days.it tought me to be kind & Caring of homeless people(oscar)fat over eating people(cookie monster)gay people(you know who:p)and metally retarded people(big bird & grover, they seemed slow to me:p)still.its a great show, great for teaching children & i might just buy the dvds.i love sesame street.

  • I loved sesame street and i still do! You can't shelter your kids from the world. also children don't really pick up on these types of things. your talking about kids who at their age, probably eat glue!! not the most....bright at that age really.

  • I don't know about anyone else, but my childhood in the '70s was all about sweet biscuits, pipes, secondhand smoke, air rifles, climbing trees, jumping off roofs, swimming and fishing alone, getting drunk on grandad's whiskey, hitchhiking with strangers, stealing porno mags, playing doctor, and taunting the local molesters by streaking with friends. The majority of children and teens today are being shafted. If one can't base a novel or screenplay on it, one's youth never truly happened.

  • well if the parents have any BALLS then they would control their kids eating habits -_-'

  • Cookie monster rocks you shouldve never changed him to viieggi uglly monster

  • u know this is the reason even though I am GAY I cannot fully support the democratic party it makes me really sad with their PC bullshit.

  • The news reporter sounds angry and loud

  • The main thing that sparked the disclaimer were scenes of children playing outside without an adult supervising. And yes, that's still kinda sad that they feel there's some sort of liability in showing kids playing. And I do think the disclaimers are ironic overcaution; but it wasn't about Cookie Monster overeating.

  • Anyone who listens to the news is a morman or a moron. And they start attacking pbs one of the last publicly funded non commercial forms of media.

I grew up with these characters burn in hell mass media.

oops, did i say that on the internet. No offense world wide web

  • really sesame street is bad for the kids? now im not a fan of fox news but that is BS and you wonder why you kid grows up to be some ultra softies who will kill themselves for being called a dork

  • stfu fox news

  • Comment removed

  • Did you know I show my little daughter the older episodes of Sesame street and most of them are from the early 70s!

  • I'm not never watching Fox news again!

  • the description really doesn't match the video. I thought it would be about how sesame street was politically correct not a warning on a dvd of sesame street saying that the cookie monster may indulge in excessive cooking eating and while we're on the subject can we refer to sesame street characters as Puppet-Americans have a little sensitivity.

  • and this is the reason why I do not watch Fox News, always worried about something that NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT.

  • who honestly gives a flying fuck what a puppet eats?? if he wants ta eat fuckin cookies LET EM BE BROTHA LET EM BE!!

  • Oooooh! Don't forget! Oscar the Grouch resembles a giant pile of weed! We can't let the childrens see that! Oh nooooo! =O

  • ???

  • You're reading waaaay to much until Sesame Street.

However, I agree with the rest. Fuck the POS leftists.

  • I felt as if he was being sarcastic...

  • ok then make a broccoli monster and see how (in)effective it is

  • Is it just me or did that anchor get a little to into it at the end of this video? Lol.

  • Truth does not need agreement because it is found in reality and not in the collective mind.

  • Fox News got this "information" from the release of the "Old School Sesame Street" DVDs which were released for purposes of nastalgia for parents. The "warnings" are that kids probably won't understand them because they were made for audiences of the 70s, not today. That's the only warning they've given. This "news report" was another act of idiocy made up by Fox News without any remote grounding in reality. Never did Sesame Street (nor would they) claim that older shows are bad for kids.

  • @slstorbakken Sesame street, did NOT claim older shows of it were/are bad for kids. The Childrens Network which is very liberal and democrat run is the cause of this, not sesame street itself. Check your facts through google before you spread ignorance.

  • @Kamikuru77 Perhaps you should read a post better before commenting; I never said that Sesame Street claimed older shows were bad for kids; in fact, I clearly that Sesame Street did NOT make that claim, just as you did, so I have no idea what you're talking about. My information came from the DVDs themselves which I own, so it's not ignorance. The ignorance you are against--the statement that Sesame Street supposedly claimed older shows were bad for kids--is exactly the same thing I said.

  • Fox new is great better than that fucking bullshit on CNN

  • dude I was watching this show with my siblings all through the 90s, when did they pull Oscar?

  • when you have elmo running around shouting ALL IS GRAND when its in real life its not that is a problem. How stupid is american people getting expecting people to agree to this .........You can take elmo and put this tickles where ............Never mind..

  • I can't believe people are still hating fox news because society tells them to. Whats on CNN today? "Lindsey Lohane covers maxim magazine shes on top again" If people did there own research they would know whats right, turns out those people end up on the right side.

  • @LENJP3 and people like Fox news because society tells them to...Ugh who cares.

  • who gives a shit. the more you censure kids the more you create a fictional world for them. then when reality kicks in their fucked for life. cut the conservative bull and let them see something controversial!

  • B.S!! They're jealous...Not everything on public television has to be sweet and sappy like Barney. -__-; too much criticism

  • FUK FOX NEWS

  • @califasun Yeah! You go, dude!

  • Oh no: people eating cookies and people being grouchy? God forbid children are exposed to real life disasters like that! Stupid-ass FOX News. What makes it more hilarious is how this dude gets so offended in the end. Just, wow.

  • actually, he's complaining how the executive producers think that the early episodes will be offensive, not because he himself thinks they're offensive.

you can blame political correctness for that bs.

  • when i did my work experience a year ago i worked in an infant school and the amount of political correctness was painfull the kids did school plays for divali and honaka and ede and no celibration at all for christmas, there was more black history than normal history and they only learnt about islam in religious studies and they spent a day learning about how disabled people are exactly the same as non disabled people it was fucking painful

  • "No independent thought"

I never hear of "MTV" getting blasted for its' programming. Oh I forgot, because most of it is useless and easy to "mentally digest".

  • There's drugs in his cookies lmao

  • GOD DAMN FOX NEWS IS STUPID

  • Damn...I'm gonna hate raising my kids in the future! If Sesame street is inappropriate...well I may as well skip ahead and make them watch Scrubs, Friends, Supernatural or Angel or anything else not for little kids...

  • parents. They make kids eat only veggies and do nothing but put them in to much activities. I remember growing up(Im only 15v BTW.) AT least then I could raid cookie jars and run around the house. If onet hing im grateful for its parents who let there kids make there own chocies when they need to, like mine. I stayed heatedly for all of my lfie so far, because I wasnt even put into activities unless I really wante dto be in them. Now days parents just sign kids up anythhing.

  • Wow...

  • PC is BS! We are sissyfying our kids with this kinda crap!

  • the good thing about australia is that no one gives a rats arse about political correctness.

  • @ALshow1989 lol

  • God For Bid your child's gonna eat a cookie!!!... listen up... kids like cookies, every one of us, was born with the natural instinct to raid the cookie jar, when our parents arn't around. its part of growing up... changing that just would'nt be normal

  • Get over yourselves children don't live in bubble rap

  • the only time to watch fox news is if you want a great laugh

  • The kids of today are fucked anyway cant see this making them any worse, weaker or stupider -M.

  • what kind of sick person would allow thier child to watch a show where the character have poor eating habits and live in mediocre houses?!?! it just disgusting!*SARCASM*

  • @gut197 If you have to write "sarcasm" in capital letters after something you said, then you're not doing it right

  • Oscar was the sh*t XP -Loves Oscar-... even if they say he needs depression meds. Seriously, what the hell 0.o;;

  • I watched the early sesame street episodes when I was a kid, I turned out fine. I think some people just have that kind of time on their hands that they can fight these pointless battles.

  • it's too bad that this was the start of the end of such a good show :( stupid political corrections

  • This is so sad how could you do anything to sesame street I grew up with this awesome stuff

  • The different characters are what made it interesting and funny I grew up on sesame street!

  • Oh give me a break!

  • talk about SPIN, seriously.Fuck You, Fox.

  • political correctness is ruining free speach when wil it stop. political correctness is a form of communism.

wake up america its time to take back what is ours

  • in my opinion, it's more fascism but either way it's bad...

  • What Inclusive times we live in!

MOBO fights against racism! So much so that black artists stayed away from 'too white' Glasgow when it was hosted there!

    Avoiding whites = anti-racist?!

Music and radical Left politics merge beautifully in this video: UNITE AGAINST [PUBLIC] FASCISM! (THE BNP IS JUST THE TIP OF THE WHITE RACIST ICEBERG!)

  • I feel sorry fir this guy. He has to read whatever the news corporation puts on the TelePrompTer in front of him. I'm sure he fucking loves this show, the real problemb with kids is they're starved for attention, that's why they do such stupid, radical shit.

  • when I have kids, they will watch the old school sesame street, not this P.C., commie crap!

  • Please don't have children. We'll all be better off.

  • uh, i will have kids and I will be a foster parent as well. raise my kids to be free thinkers, like their Libertarian, christian Gothic mom!

  • Turing monster piece theater when they music came on I was terrified and ran away from the TV and it scared me so bad!! Especially when he went crazy eating cookies. But when I saw him outside of that skit I wasnt afraid. Haha!

  • this was a great show and funnuy too, fucking pc pricks out tehre we can't say anything anymore. this cheers me up when i'm feeling low.

  • I hate this political correct bullshit

    "he eats cookies" OH SHIT!!!

    kids like cookies

  • @FishscaleRaw Not to mentioin, the cookie itself doesn't make a person fat, it's the over-consuming of cookies and similar sugary foods. Not to mention isn't that non-PC in itself because you criticizes someone's life choices and in turn criticizing fat people?

  • I love how these people try their darned hardest to protect the children from everything they see as bad.

    Morality blinded idiots

  • Absolutely, UberCookieboy, well said! The PC brigade are like the old Mary Whitehouse mob of the 1960s and 70s. A bunch of self-righteous, holier-than-thou, self-appointed moral guardians who think they know better than the rest of us!

Makes me sick! That's why I've joined "The Campaign Against Political Correctness"!

  • Fox News - a serious news source. How hilariously stupid. This segment is a waste of time. If you watch Fox News, you must have an IQ less than 100.

  • Or need a break from the dismal things happening in the world so we dont go into depression.

  • awh i grew up on this shyt. sesame street...rockos modern life, ren and stimpy, beavis and butthead. now we got kids watching a retarded gay sponge show about nonsence and stupidity?

  • As if ren and stimpy and bevis and butthead was not about nonsense and retarded stupidity?

  • I find political correctness offensive and patronising. People who practice political correctness are generally not very intelligent and lack common sense. I find the best way to deal with the PC Brigade is to ignore them and do the complete opposite. They are a soft bunch of weaklings.

  • lmao xD oh get over yourselves its a childrens show. what are u gonna say? OMG! BURT AND ERNIE ARE THE REASONS OUR CHILDREN ARE GAY!? THE COOKIE MONSTER IS THE REASON WHY AMERICA IS FAT!? THAT OSCAR THE GROUCH IS THE REASON WHY UR CHILDREN GROW UP TO BE BITCHY TEENAGE CHILDREN!? lmao plz. its not like they'll even remember it cause of how young they are. this is a joke lmao XD its not even news. it gives me a headache

  • TheseBonesLiquify@ I know! right?! i used to watch it all the time when i was younger, and now, i dont even remember the names of all the characters!!!! my mom has to point then out for me sometimes x]

  • i know me too lolol sometimes i forget but i mean come one. shit. its a childrens show. if your gonna do news and complain about seasame street you might as well do it on every cartoon in america and say that they're making your child as dumb as dirt. lol

  • @TheseBonesLiquify

fox news is complaining that people are complaining about sesame street... well, they are more mad at the producers of sesame street. Watch the video again, you might be surprised that you agree with fox news.

  • ha, what a story.... the producers must have been leant on by the Political Correctness Police

  • besides LazySocialist, your to LAZY and to much of a pig headed SOCIALIST to understand that this is a JOKE.

your not protecting anyone, your just a tool.

    turn 12. thanks.

  • I'm glad you understand sarcasm.

  • Dude the reporter is just joking around. It's sarcasm peeps.

  • hollly shit! fox news is biased! godd even that reporter and the way hes talking! wtf mann! none of its even news! LOL!

  • And this is hard-hitting controversy? Oh, how the News Shows have fallen.

  • There are some things kids should know, and things kids should not know, and those things should be determined by the parents, NOT the government, and not religious fanatics, or any other cult of personality. Parenting begins in the home, not on the TV, or anyone else.

As for the side bar, sounds like someone trying to cram theocracy down our throats over this, which is just as bad as socialism if you ask me. Both are inhibiting and both suck.

  • holy holy holy god, please ask me how morons get into political and religious( RELIGIOUS) debate on a video like this...wait a minute, i forgot im on youtube.

    *FacePalm/eyeroll combo*

  • God Forbid we allow our children to watch this LIBERAL GARBAGE!!! Look at how CONTROVERSIAL and OFFENSIVE and INAPPROPRIATE Sesame Street is!? My child is far to young to understand the parody of a Cookie-obsessed fiend or a monster living in a trash can. No no, what this show needs is more GOD and JESUS and some CONSERVATIVE IDEALS. Now THAT'S a show for kids!

  • you do know this is a CONSERVATIVE news channel "mocking" it right, your just making yourself look like a duche.

besides, its the producers(aka, people who found the creators and commercialize it) saying it may be inappropriate, so give it a rest LazySocialist , you sound like a tool.

  • Uh, no I won't give it a rest because my CHILDREN are being EXPOSED to this EVIL NONSENSE.

And if I am a tool for caring about my children's mental state, than I will be a TOOL. JESUS.

  • well my bad for not knowing you had kids. so the BIG BAD CONSERVATIVE will come with his BIG BAD BIBLE to kill them.

besides i thought you had to be atleast 13 to have children? why arnt you in a world record book?

  • It might be little out there for todays politically correct world, but have you watched Sesame Street? It's not bad or anything.

I find it ironic that conservatives are sticking up for something that clearly was clearly a left leaning hippie show. The liberals aren't the ones sticking up for it.

You have every right in the world to not let YOUR kids watch this video and make them watch Veggietales or something with more Christian values.True "Conservatives" would just let them watch Sesame St.

  • I grew up with sesame street and nothing was wrong with it then. Now it's horrible!!! I watch it with my younger cousin and I was appalled!!! This is really shocking to me. There was nothing wrong with sesame street.

  • So many people don't realise that this is sarcasm?... That's crazy!!

  • btw, if you want a discussion on fox or a liberal/conservative argument, go to another video. us seseame street lovers want to speak on this topics controversy. thank you.

  • For those not familiar with the content that the producers of SS now regret, I believe some of it centers around an episode where a child is lost and goes home with the nice old man who sold groceries. Now we parents of course teach our children never to go with strangers. It was a rather innocent story line but it shouldn't have been shown to kids. Hence the warning on the old dvds

  • WTF???? Oscar should have been treated for clinical depression???? HE IS A KIDS SHOW CHARACTER Wow Shep I thought you were decent for awhile but now Fox is officially a complete shit hole

  • if ya listened, shep had sarcasm in his voice. hes on our side here, 2boss5

  • moron, its not fox news thats saying it. Its SESAME STREET'S PRODUCERS. Pay attention.

  • The right has been hi-jacked by religious conspiracists. Typical Ned Flanders'.

  • Kids need to get the shit beat out of them they are a bunch of pussy's

  • You can tell Shep Smith is being sarcastic. Trust me, I speak sarcasm as a second language.

  • its not appropriate for today's preschoolers cus today's preschoolers have been pussied up.

  • Ha!!!!!

  • ... You know,... if you really think about it,... Oscar really COULD have been treated for clinical depression.

  • Fox News is for fucking retards.

  • And conservative fucks.

  • @harrybarracuda

I thought "retard" was politically incorrect.

But of course, cuss words are perfectly PC, because liberals love debauchery.

  • Love your comment, lxKazxl. Really.

Liberals just love showing how "smart" they are and how they always know whats best for everyone. Yeah sure. Cookie Monster is the reason 50% of America is obese.

  • For everyone who is trying to turn this video into another "liberal vs. conservative" game, please go eat a 12 gauge breakfast.

  • Oh Jesus Christ! of course the early episodes were not safe for today's children to watch! Joan Ganz Cooney was just starting at creating a children's show, and since she has created a perfect show for preschoolers to learn and enjoy myself. This is bullshit.

  • I think Fox News should come with a warning. It should say: "Warning. If you can read this, you are too intelligent to watch this show. We are going to rant about some b.s. that makes no sense, has no bearing on your life, and is most likely a complete lie. Now go kill some gay communist liberal vegetarians. Ronald Reagan 2012"

  • If you dont get it, than obviously you are too retarded to get what hes trying to say.. dont be so ignorant, go suck obamas nuts and wolf down the rest of what the liberal media force feeds you while you quietly oblige to them and do not question a single thing they said. If you did your own research, youd know, youd know that were being led to a backwards america.

  • Legend xD

  • No, I do get it. It is obvious that you don't get what I said. All you read was my comment on Fox. Re-read my comment, I am also dumbfounded by the notion Sesame Street is bad. By the way, was it perhaps a media mogul who convinced you the media was liberally biased? Rhetorical question, I already know it was. Just chew on that. Your opinion of mainstream media was given to you by someone working in mainstream media.

  • He was making fun of the idea that sesame street is harmful you freaking twit. If your comprehension level is that low, you don't need to be spouting off to anyone about ANYTHING. My God you are an embarrassment even to stupid people. Illiterate guttersnipe.

  • I don't believe your comprehension level is so high either. Did you watch what fox news had to say about sesame street?

From what you are telling me, you agree with Fox news. Fox news believes Sesame Street is harmless, it's the producers of Sesame Street that think the show is harmful to kids. Fox news is making fun of the idea that the show is harmful to kids... you are so blinded by bias that you wont listen to what Fox has to say. Did you even watch the video?

  • Yes, I did and I realize that the Fox correspondent was told to make fun of the producers of Sesame Street. The "uh wahh?" meant I also see no harm in sesame street and no reason to even air the discussion. As a matter of fact, I'm not dim-witted, I do my own research, and I disagree with lies no matter who tells them. So I don't suck obama's nuts and I also don't believe radio and talk show hosts when they provide "information" that is solely intended to raise ratings.

  • well, I can't read your original comment because it got deleted or something. However, you were attacking fox news even though you were agreeing with them. I have no idea what your argument is cause it seems that you are changing it. Answer this:

Do you agree Sesame Street is good for kids?

    Do you dislike political correctness?

What false information is fox giving?

It's one piece, you don't always have to agree with fox.

  • Ok wait, I must weigh in on the conservative vs liberal thing. I think that I am quite liberal in my views. I am also very much against governmental control. How did liberalism get confused with socialism? It's not the same thing. Neo-cons constantly push the idea of freedom to chose but they really seem to mean the freedom for them to chose and to hell with everyone else. Now for the Seasame Street thing. My response is this: "uhh, whah?"

  • Sesame street is a good show, it teaches children that the world is full of people who are different, and that though they are different, we're all here together. We should learn to accept them for their differences.

  • wow, have you read this guys description for the vid. It's friken sesame street for Christ's sake! What does this have to do with religion or political views.

  • i dont think the public knows how to NOT drag religion and politics into totally unrelated topics anymore.

sorry i started to read the description till I realized it was BS

gosh. if parents are so concerned about what their kids watch why dont they stop sitting them in front of the TV and actually DO something about it

  • HILARIOUS. I am 28 and when I have kids, they will only see the old ones. None of this elmo BS. A little grit is fun. Grimm's fairy tales anyone? : )

  • This video just makes me angry. This guy clearly did not even look at the DVDs he's talking about, because the DVDs that that message is on are of the first few seasons of Sesame Street. Those episodes are NOT still broadcast on PBS, and haven't been for many years. And the clips that play while he's talking are NOT on the DVDs he's talking about.

And one final note, it was the Children's Television WORKSHOP, not Network. But it's Sesame Workshop now, anyway.

    UGH!!!

  • early sesame street episodes is good for chirdren new sesame street is not

  • It's funny when Fox News gets angry about indoctrination.

    Seriously, Fox? Really?

Though, in fairness, some of this stuff is ridiculous, it has nothing to do with political correctness. It has to do with over-protectiveness. That can stem from anyone, on the left or the right. Don't believe me? Think of all the fun sins the right isn't letting you do, for your own good.

  • Over-protectiveness, interesting term generally associated with New Deal Democrats, bureaucrats, and liberals in general.

Yes, conservatives can be associated with "over-protectiveness," i.e. war on terror and disputes over American patriotism

However, the fun sins the right isn't letting us do, I can name so much more fun things the left is regulating and minimizing.

  • Politicians in California wanted to tax cigarette smoking by over 100%. Yes tax, which is usually not associated with conservative economic ideology, this would hurt tobacco industry in the U.S.

Also the left pushed laws such as helmets with bikes, buckle up, and cellphone use while driving. This is over-protectiveness at its best, and the left keep pushing government intervention.

A true conservative wants minimal government interference, but you got me on drugs and prostitution, damn..

  • First, anyone who is truly a liberal is against bureaucrats and bureaucracy in general. We can't help it if a huge part of the 'liberal' movement has become authoritarian- the exact opposite of what liberalism is all about.

As for nanny state laws, I don't see those coming from exclusively the left or right, and the social welfare of the left is matched with the corporate welfare and tax cuts of the right.

The left is just guilty of PC, which the right had back in the day- see 'censorship'.

  • Well, you are thinking of classical liberals, which are in fact conservatives today. FDR completely revolutionized liberal ideology. The New Deal supported federal intervention, and government programs were financed with high taxation. So if you are a liberal today, you would support independent regulatory agencies and support over-protective policies.

Conservative = less government agencies, more privatization

Liberals = more government agencies, more taxes, more nanny state laws.

  • id expect to hear that from a liberal

  • I'd expect such presumption from a neo-con, but I shan't know for certain if you are such. But it is irrelevant. I am not a 'liberal' or a 'coservative'. I am an anti-authoritarian. No matter how much I support any of the goals of the modern left, there's no way in hell I support doing it through government and law. Leave it to nonviolent and constructive action by individuals. We're not here to press our beliefs on people or to restrict their freedoms.

  • Good lord it's fortunate that effeminate bedwetters like you weren't in charge in WWII. What would we have done. What an embarrassment to manhood you are. Pillowbiting jackass.

  • You know I was kinda angry at the producers of Sesame Street. I thought they were spineless a-holes promoting the "do not offend anyone" mentality. However, they are probably defending themselves from liberals douchebags that threaten the company with obscene lawsuits. Still, the producers should grow a pair.

Regardless, I'm sick of those commercials that have those "do not attempt" messages at the bottom... pisses me off to see where this country is headed.

  • i dont know abt you guys but i love it!!. whats destroying kids today is the internet

  • Ah...let's go back & revise the early material; I mean god forbid kids see society's viewpoints AS THEY REALLY WERE for that time! Disney has revised the old "Pecos Bill" cartoons (& cut out the parts where he was smoking a cigar), because they're afraid it will influence kids to take up smoking.. WTF?! Most kids are influenced more by their peers or older influences. I've never heard of 1 being influenced by a cartoon.

Now..who wants to help me fold the flag?

  • Mstatz, as a proud, die-hard, old-school Sesame Street fan until THE DAY I DIE, I am very proud to be subbed to your channel & the above posts are an exact reflection of this! I can see where people might have had a problem with Cookie Monster promoting obesity or the fact that Oscar was angry all the time. Growing up with a verbally/emotionally abusive parent, there were times when Oscar did not sit right with me (CONT'D)

  • But I can pretty much guarantee ANY USER WHO COMMENTS HERE that CTW NEVER said anything that even remotely alludes to the idea that Bert & Ernie should make an inner-city preschooler ashamed of being from a low income!!! If anything, I guarantee that it was Faux News who made this up to further promote their bullshit "whomever has the most money/toys will go far in life while the lower & middle class are worthless & don't deserve to live" propaganda!

  • I mean, who else could make people ashamed of being of low income but Faux News who believes that money & only money buys you happiness?!!

  • Thanks for the compliment, but I think you missed the sarcasm when he mentioned Ernie and Bert. He said the CTW producers of TODAY have a problem with 70's Sesame Street. He made the crummy apartment comment sarcastically as a reason why today's CTW producers have a problem with old school S.S.

  • (cont.) I also disagree with you about Cookie Monster. His silly obsession with Cookies was meant to be funny, not be mimicked by kids. It wasn't mimicked by kids! In fact, why do all of today's "politically correct" folks assume that kids mimic EVERYTHING they see. I knew Cookie monster loved cookies when I was a little kid but I ate a moderate amount and every kid I knew did the same. I also never vandalized anything, even though I watched the Mad Painter paint numbers on things.
