In the film Capt. America, Black Widow, Black Panther, Giant Man, & Wasp died. Hawkeye dies later. Thor was in Asgard the whole time so he didn't know. The Vision got permanently damaged and Iron Man took the kids after his armor got wasted.

@nightcrawler491 He didn't beat them all at once. Just most of them. Thor was in Asgard, ruling in Odin's place, so he couldn't help. The Hulk wasn't in the fight, for his own reasons (whatever they were), and Iron Man lived. He just killed Cap, Wasp, Black Widow, and Giant Man, alothough Hawkeye did die later on.

Actually, Thor is alive in the movie because he was away ruling Asgard when Ultron defeated the other Avengers. He only makes a brief appearance at the end of the film.
