I hate skates. When I catch them I usually slice their wings and break their tails and use them from shark bait, if I'm fishing in the ocean. If I'm fishing in a brackish creek/estuary, I usually just unhook them and turn them loose. If I catch more than one, I generally move locations. They travel in LARGE schools and when you're on them that's all you will catch and they are worthless. (but fun to reel in). The smaller/mid sized skates MAKE THE BEST SHARK BAIT, IN SHORE OR OFF SHORE.
my best friend is missing and i think shes in garden city myrtle beach..if anyone could go to my channel to watch the video of her and say if you have seen her or not that would be great because im so worried...thanks
They dont sting. The object on its tail that you guys think is a "barb" is nothing more than a dorsel fin. STINGRAYS DO NOT HAVE THIS ON THERE TAIL. What is pictured in the video is a skate and would not sting.
Nope it wasn't hurting me & I wasn't hurting it. I was just video taping it. Some guy I didn't know caught it while trying to catch fish in a fishing tournament with kids. They did throw it back in the ocean where it came from. It happily swam off with the sharks that were around the pier.
