Supremely informative. Thanks u helped me tighten a loose boiler on a Pavoni only 9 months old that had worked loose. Your vid gave me the confidence to remove boiler element and give the huge ring-nut a bash with a hammer and a small cold-chisel to tighten it 1/8th of a turn. It's now tight.
What's more it's water tight and still heats up the water.
I just wish Pavoni had not put a strange hollow torx headed bolt to secure the plastic base. It has a tiny spindle nipple in the middle - crazy!
When you describe checking for alinement before tightening the flange, you say, "You won't get a second chance." Why is that? If you were off the first time, couldn't you just loosen it, realign and tighten again? Love your videos. I ordered the rebuild kit.
You can find the parts, seals, gasket & tools at orphanespresso com - on the left side, click LEVER MACHINES GASKETS SEALS & PARTS, then on the right side, second line down, click LA PAVONI EUROPICCOLA, PRO
Great videos, thanks for making these! Only trouble I ran into (aside from breaking the rod seal snap ring) was fitting the piston seals without rolling them. I had to use a tiny screwdriver to lift the seal out of the piston groove and then ran the screwdriver around the ID of the seal a few times until it rolled back into position on the piston. The silicone grease really helped with this.
Great video, cheers. Are you using anything in particular to lubricate it? Also the group piston gaskets, can I just cut the old ones off to replace them?
I have an europiccola from 2001 with a temperature limiting device that directly connects to the element. I am experiencing erratic on off's so I guess the temp limiting sensor is going bad. When I looked in your website, the temp sensor looked a little different. Yours is like a round cyninder with terminals, mine is a device with a thumbscrew adjuster ( wont move). Do I have to remove this so the temp sensor you sell goes inside of this part?
Thank you so much for these clear, elegant instructions. I was at wit's end trying to insert the piston into the cylinder of the group without tearing or twisting the u-rings. Every other instruction blithely stated that you just push it up into the cylinder. GACK! It doesn't just push. Per your illustration, tucking the outer edge of the u-ring into the cylinder was the magic. Beloved La Pavoni now operates like a new machine out of the box. Maybe better. I might have despaired without you.

Awesome instructions: But I have a newbie question:
To clarify, when you lube the BOTTOM boiler gasket under the machine, do you lube both sides? or just the upper or lower side?
thx Gary

@Clean767 Hello, the tidiest way would be to lube the flange nut - the idea is for the nut to slide on the gasket, rather than drag along.

Thanks for this. My machine is now working like a dream!

Great work. I hope I will, someday, have the time (and all the equipment) to rebuild my europiccola.
