  • Fake

  • seriously, did he expect any1 to believe that? i to make it somewhat believable, you need at least 9.2 ontheir. not os x. fake videos like this are such a waste of time for someone like me who watches something to relax so i can fall asleep. this just iritates me that people shit like this.

  • this is so fake my macbook air 1.6GHz isn't that fast

  • Thats only Virtual PC on Mac OS 9.2, That TAM also can running Windows 95

  • A TAMac with MultiTouch.

    What's next? LOL

    NICE UPGRADE!

    Don't listen to the h8ters.

  • is that TAM running TIGER??? I think that's funny. I would love to have a TAM so much... It amazes me that they put an LCD on there, but continued using CRT type displays for years after.

  • WTF?

The cpu speed is only 250 MHz four pipelines and a 16kb L1 cache.

Such performance could be achived with a quad core BeBox.

The Screen res is olny 800×600, it looks like 1024*760.

  • @ZImpresive

Yeah. they probably took it apart and modded the crap out of it.

  • the owner must have spent a lot of money upgrading this old mac.

  • it is possible that he re-intigrated a touch screen, and the components of an ibook, then put then imto the shell enclosure of the TAM

  • nice fake, it cant run smoothly like that with 128mb ram. he probably has some little tablet integrated in tam case.

  • kjubrt how can u say its fake and its being done right in front of your face these computers are totally upgradeable which is what he did

  • @Enriquelio

totally upgradeable? it supports MAX 128megs of ram and sonnet G3 card. the only original thing he has is a T.A.M. CASE. he implemented little lcd in it, and the rest of pc is probably in bose subwoofer, or somewhere out of set.

  • you can take it into an apple store and request that they update your processor

  • lawll

  • I thought the 20th aniversary macintosh can't run Mac OS X...

  • @MacFreaks: Me too. I would be happy to get one of these things with Tiger.

  • yh, i thought they only went up to os 9.1

  • @MacFreaks by default you can't, but by changing the processor and getting a larger hard drive, it can be done

  • Do you mean with a G3 accelerator?

  • exactly, the only limit to this computer is Leopard, which cuts off at G4, G5 and Intel, after Leopard, it cuts again to only Intel

  • But isnt the PowerPC 603e solderd to the logic board?

  • they cant

  • that is niiiice, man

  • HOW the Hell did you put Tiger in there??! NICE!

  • He probably put one of those G3/G4 Cresendos in it. I remember back in the day they had advertisements about upgrading old towers and AIO's (i.e. 5200, 8600 7100 etc) with is processor up to 1.0GHz G4's.

  • its a G4... my old iMac G3/600 wasn't that smooth with minimizing actions/iTunes on Tiger. My G4 is super smooth with Tiger, and reasonable with Leopard

  • Good job uploading this. I heard you playing songs on your 20th Anniversary Macintosh.

The number of songs you played on your 20th Anniversary Macintosh are:

    1. 0:08 to 0:17

    2. 0:18 to 0:20

    3. 0:21 to 0:23

    4. 0:24 to 0:33

    5. 0:45 to 1:25

    6. 1:40 to 1:49

What are those you played on your 20th Anniversary Macintosh?

Reply to me and I'll let you know.

  • how is that running OS X? i heard that it cant at all

  • Wow! Really WOW! Can you tell me something about this mod? Amazing!

  • you custimiized it

  • i didnt kno the tam had a touch screen...was this the one from back in 1997 when they came out

  • it didn't. They added a touch panel to it.

  • Comment removed

  • OK, it's a mod. It's a good mod. I wish this was mass produced. ;)

  • Looks like he took the guts of a Mac Mini and put them in the TAM.

  • My iMac G4 can't run as smoothly as that and it's only 5 years old. It's a fake.

  • @rubbersoulgirl84 its modified

  • FYI for n00bs: It runs a patched version made for PCs. OSX is a Unix/BSD fork with cool GUI and mach kernel instead of monolithic kernel and EFI instead of BIOS. A savvy hacker can take FreeBSD libraries and re-compile them to run for old Macs and PCs. It even runs on a 386 with enough ram and the needed patches, drivers and libraries. With EFI emulation, most hardware platforms can run OSX. Google for Kalyway Leo and OSX86 to see OSX running seamlessly on P3 or better right out of the box.

  • Guys, relax he probably gutted the TAM and stuck in a mac mini or something of that nature.

  • its real look how the cursor jumps around

  • Thats not leopard its tiger silly :P

  • Of course you can't get OS X on a TAM, nor can you get a touch screen lol. He's just using the case of it, probably took apart a tablet mac or set it up himself.

  • or not leopard but OS X

  • Wow Leopard what are the specs?

  • its tiger

  • real he used a touh panel and a program that lts old macs run old osx not the newer verions

  • This guy moded the TAM, you cannot upgrade a TAM to OSX, the max OS is OS 9.

  • Runs OS X? wtf

  • and TAMs max Mac OS is mac os 9.1

  • You can not get OS X ON A TAM!!!

  • well not with the internal components of the TAM ...

  • I envy this guy. He made the Spartacus alive for another century! And with a touchscreen! Think about what an awesome kitchen computer this would be as wallmount!! :D

  • i always liked the Apple TAM... the best Mac after today's iMac...

  • oooo...pretty

  • Doesnt that mac only have 2MB of vram? when they opened the itunes window the animated affect was perfect. I have a 333MHz iMac running OS X 10.3.9 and it has 6 MB of vram and the windows lag. (and i have enough ram 288MB)

  • djneo92nl - Bingo!

This guy is really amazing, he put not only a Mac Mini, but a new touch panel display, a 3.5-inch HD, a dvd-drive, and a web cam as well. This isn't a hack - a very sensible update if you ask me.

  • no i think he just hack a touch screen in it and hocked up a mac mini (or an other mac ) to the tv in the tam has (i want a tam)

  • I would call it an "upgrade".

  • the maximum os the 20th anniversary mac could take was 9.1 so how are you on tiger?

  • How You Do That That's SOOOOOOOOO Cool

    I Want One Like Yours

  • mayby he hacked a mac mini in to it

or a mac connected by the tv connection

    buth that is just sweet

  • I'd like to see him show the same video with both his hands in place. For anyone wondering how he got OS X, he probably has a 500MHz G3 upgrade

  • You can install touchpads in a lot of things. And for Mac OS X, that just looks like iTunes, and they could have run Mac os X with Xpostfacto.

  • FAKE! How a 1997 system can run mac os X. It's not compatible, only can run until mac os 9 and X 10.2 and it has only 2 MB of Video Ram, so it's fake!

  • I have Mac OS X 10.3.9 on my old iBook 333 MHZ PowerPC

  • Uh. Because you don't own a mac?

  • Clostert, don't be retarded. I have 10.3.9 on my 200MHz 1997 PowerBook, which is not even a G3. It CAN be done if you really want to, besides the TAM had a G3 upgrade available. He also could have just gutted the thing and built it from scratch - I don't know why he would, but it could be done.

  • it cant b a mouse, the pointer cant just teleport like that wit a mouse

  • Man you are stubborn. There are lots of "touchy thingy" in the past, not to mention these days. That TAM was $10000 or so, so it's not odd to know the machine has a touch-panel.

  • i want one where did you get and how did u get osx on it

  • I want to know how he did that. I want one!

  • nice mac!
