  • Absolutely beautiful. If i completely lose myself in this song, I know I will cry. This brings me a feeling of nostalgia and a bittersweetness of my memories.

  • What a handsome man and what a voice...

  • this is my grandpa's favorite song

  • Like if nelson munts (simpsons) sent you here

  • I'm not a big oldie fan. The melody reminds me of this one Korean drama that I've seen recently.

  • This version in my opinion is better than the frank Sinatra. Just saying

  • J'adore!

  • There's a scene in the Tom Cruise Vietnam Movie, BORN ON THE 4TH OF JULY, that features this sad song too. He wanted to ask Kyra Sedgewick to the Prom, but instead he stays home, and gets his stuff packed to leave to go to the War. On Prom Night, he runs from his house to the school in the pouring rain. He walks into the Prom Dance soaking wet, and slow dances with her, to this song: MOON RIVER.

  • My favorite music is 1980's Rock and Heavy Metal, and yet, a classic mellow song like this can really get to you! It's SO sad and melancholy sounding, that it sneaks up on your emotions.

  • You know whats funny.. , I efin love electronic music, but this song has something in it that wont let me stop listening to it. ''Classic''

  • Sex and the city? The simpsons? You know what brought me here? The unbridled talent of Andy fucking Williams!

It's indescribable romantic feeling at that time

  • No idea how or why, but he has become the perfect frame to the masterpiece and Godess on Earth that was Audrey...simply put, the man is an imortal, his voice and tribute will live as long as we endure on this Earth, Well done Sir!

  • no body does it like Andy

  • what a beautiful song.

  • I like this because of Breakfast at Tiffany's not Sex and the City. Fact.

  • If Johnny Mercer had only written the lyric to this one tune, he'd still be great. Pure poetry. You were the best, Johnny!

  • Love it...............it was my dad's song. And although I did not appreciate it when I was a kid, I now do and can not get enough of it..........

  • @Bree2013 same :P

  • Love this song such a classic! first heard it in breakfast @ tiffanys then in sex and the city and loved it both times hearing it it captured my heart!

  • I adore Frank Sinatra. But this song belongs to Andy!

  • Back in the day, this was what played on the radio and not in TV shows. I think it was a score in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

  • Thank you forged4war :)

  • Thank you Nancy Grace!

  • This shit rules!!!!!!!!!

  • I heard this first in Sex and the City and then in a movie Stuck on You and now I'm very in love with this. Beautiful song.

  • I also heard this song on Sex In The City and it reminded me of my dad. When we were young he had a local band on television and played at the Cha cha club here in my town many years ago. I was about 11 yrs old. My dad had a beautiful voice and sang just like Frank Sinatra, well this was one song he would sing so well. It's a reminder every time I hear this song.. RIP Mom and Dad.

  • @paulapeachess Great song

  • @paulapeachess

that's a sweet story. brings back many memories of my grandparents as well. :)

  • a song for old friends

  • Comment removed

  • my mom really liked it. it is a beautiful song. but ..... the song to me, and i mean just listening to the melody, the song makes me feel like someone is leaving. you know? it sounds like the song would be played at the end of a movie. and two people are separating and going their seperate ways, and that's what it's always sounded like to me. a sad song. and i don't like it.

  • this is my favorite version of this song.

  • great having a universal appeal!

  • this is the best version ever sang by andy williams the sound quality is at par with high definition of today songs thank you omarproductions i play over and over again and i never fed up to hear it again

  • Best version

  • This song reminds me of camping by the Christmas tree with my dad

  • I picked this song to play at my grandfather's funeral. Now listening to it makes me cry. :(

  • It's a sad and pathetic day when someone doesn't know Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer.

  • beautiful song!!!! i love singing this xo

  • can anybody tell me what a huckle berry friend is? is it anything like eating wild hickory nuts??

  • @m1kewithaone ahahahahah! you're a wild hickory nut!

  • @m1kewithaone Don't you know the story o Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer? It's a classic book by Mark Twain!

  • @rrbond07 oh, i get it now.. duh!

  • My absolute favorite song!!! It gives me goosebumps and tears because of its beauty. Those who are new to this kind of music should also check out My Cup Runneth Over by Ed Ames. It is also a first-class romantic song.

  • This song remembers me a lot of my Father, who have just passed away ony 6 weeks ago

  • After 50 years, this song still gives me goosebumps! Andy Williams is one of my all-time favorite singers and this song is one shining example of his gifted voice. Lovely background instrumentation and singers add to the magic of this unforgettable ballad. It was a more simpler and innocent time then and he was married to lovely Claudine Longet, had a nice family, and did cherished Christmas shows that I always used to look forward to. I wish his personal life was as perfect as his lovely music.

  • My mom says, "I was born in 1938, and I never get tired of listening to that beautiful music!" I agree we have lost style and charm they had back then!

  • Nelson :P

  • what an absolute classic

  • this is one of the most beautiful songs, I ever heard and I am only in my twenites the music today is shit =(

  • MY ol Dad had only a small stack of LP's when I was little, and this was one of them. WOW it is bitter sweet to listen to this beautiful piece again.

  • Linda músicaaaaaa

  • I dedicate this song to Myra Kraft, a loving wife, mother. She managed the Robert and Myra Kraft Family Foundation and was president of the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation, which contributed millions of dollars to charities in the United States and Israel. From 1995-2002 she was the first woman to chair the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston. For the past two years she was chair of the board of directors of United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley.

    Rest in Peace, Myra...

  • @adamjkel7 Great song for a great lady.

  • I love this song- I'm 19- really wished that I lived in the era of this music sometimes. Lovely song. x

  • @helenh221991 Helen, I also wish you would have lived during this era of UNFORGETTABLE music, an era that will never be duplicated again! I was born in 1953 and began my love for rock and roll---and this type of lovely music---when my parents gave me a transistor radio for Christmas in 1964. That was the MOST INFLUENTIAL GIFT OF MY LIFE and cost only a couple of bucks but was priceless! Henry Mancini has a lovely version of this song, too, but Andy's is lovely in its own cherished way.

  • @unclebone100 i got my first one in '64 too. and i remember the first song i heard was "april love" from that movie.

  • @m1kewithaone This song was in "Breakfast At Tiffany's" and NOT in "April Love". That movie came out in 1957 and featured Pat Boone and Shirley Jones in lead roles. Pat had a BIG hit with "April Love" and that was one of his best songs, too. I just LOVE the music of Andy Williams and especially his version of "Moon River", though I also love Henry Mancini's version. They sure do not make music like this today which is quite sad.

  • @unclebone100 right, i knew april love was not in the breakfast a tiffany's movie, but i didn't really know about april love movie. i remember this song, moon river because my mom liked it. the song must have come out before the movie right? because i remember seeing breakfast at tiffany's with my sister somewhere around '64 or 5, but i remember hearing moon river somewhere around 1960. but hey, i was only five in '60 so i could be wrong.

  • reminds me of the simpsons lol

  • @tristanauspride "I thought he wouldn't do Moon River, then BAM, second encore!!!"

  • i like this version of moon river best... very smooth. it calms my mind and separates me from the real world for awhile

  • I'm black and 50, when I was a kid around 3 to 5yrs old, my dad used to whistle this and sing the first few lines all the time. Since then, even though I listen to R & B, Jazz, and Soul, I still like this song. Love the vocals, and it brings back some happy memories when I was a child. I recall seeing Andy sing this on Ed Sullivan too. Thanks for posting.

  • so glad to be only 20 and love this music my friends are missing out!

  • @Mojobaby18 well, im only 16(almost 17) and i love this too :)

  • Always the last song played at the high school dance - I perfect time with your most special girl!

  • My mum used to sing this beautifully around the house when I was a small child in the early 60s. It always evokes a special feeling

  • 3 people are minus any soul !

  • My mom played this album when sho was doing the "heavy" housecleaning. This took her several hours, so we had the Andy Williams album (going from memory here - over 40 years ago) "Moon Riiver and other Favorites", along with "South Pacific" "Mary Poppins" "Sound of Music" and "The King and I" soundtracks. We hated it then, love it now.

Andy's version of this song is probably my favorite, with Danny Williams a close second.

    Thanks mom.

  • To the 3 cretins who "dislike" this song: will you PLEASE for the love of God and all that is good and pure and right in this world NOT have any children? The earth need truth, nobility and beauty and you losers are obviously incapable of appreciating anything resembling these attributes. TY johnny, henry, and andy for making this world a better place.

  • Many have tried to replicate this song but it will always be Andy Williams signature song! And I remember my grandma used to play this when I was little, maybe 6 or 7 years old. It still reminds me of her and will always be a favorite of mine.

  • Heard this on Sex and the City. Now I'm obsessed with it.

  • @PinkFractal same:D

  • @PinkFractal thats the same exact reason why i searched for this song.

  • @PinkFractal haha, same here!

  • @PinkFractal Me too!! :D

  • @PinkFractal me 2 ! :D

  • @PinkFractal

     Classic

    :-)

  • my new favourite romantic song...i love it

  • I can remember being mystified by this song when I was a kid in the 60s. I think it helped me appreciate Roxy Music years later.

  • I wasn't even born yet when this was a hit. Lucky me, my older sisters had this record. This song still beats all crap you hear on the "talent" shows.

    Thank you for the upload.

  • just what i needed this is when music was worth listening to...mmm beauty simply beautiful

  • We had an intercom system in our house which was attached to an AM/FM radio. When my parents would relax or before going out or a party, they'd tune into to an easy listening station in San Antonio & invariably, this song would be played. I hear it & I can smell the Scotch they drank, party hors d'ourves.; the way the house smelled & felt. It had an energy all its own. I hear this song & get weepy. My parents thought they were prepping for a party. In reality, they were creating memories.

  • grew up on andy, johnny rivers, dean, frank, johhny mathis, "camelot", tony bennett AND the beatles, stones, jimi, doors, PPand M, motown....was i lucky or what???

  • @akitaman101 yes you're lucky man

  • hermosa canción... hermosa... no puedo dejar de escucharla, cuantas veces va ya esta noche 10?...

  • I want this played at my funeral

  • This is the saddest song Andy ever sang.

  • @Chipper1981 - me too, doing exactly the same after that episode

  • just love this song! I heard it when I was watching Season 4 of Sex and the City and ever since I am listening the song over and over again!

  • @Chipper1981 yeah.. carrie and Big...

  • ♥HERMOSO♥I LOVEYOU

AMO LA MUSICA DE Andy Williams - Moon River♥

  • The best part of any episode of Sex and the City is "I Heart NY" when they're dancing to this.

  • @stockinettestitch yes yes and yes...love this moment between Big and Carrie

  • "huckleberry friend" *The tiny size of the berries led to their frequent use as a way of referring to something small, often in an affectionate way - this may have been merely slang of the period for "I'm your best gun/man."

  • I love this song so much!!! It's touch me~

  • Was brought up listening to this most sunday mornings ,my step fathers favourite will always bring back happy and sad memories as was played at his funeral last month hope your listening Tom x

  • Beautiful rendition by Andy Williams! "Moon River" made the U.S. Top 40!

    Bravo, Andy!

  • Timeless classic.

I hope to play this in my wedding, my anniversary and in my funeral some day....

    xx
