Been in the Army for 7 years now & wish we had more soldiers like SSG Barnes- his "reality" speech was damn good! He tried to hold his men to a higher standard & enforce discipline! Things don't always go the way you wish, but as a soldier, you're expected to get over it & do your job; not bitch/whine/do drugs! Combat is rough but someone has to do it! "There's the way it is, & the way it ought to be"... for real! MAN UP & function as a soldier is supposed to! I would follow SSG Barnes anywhere!

TOm Berenger's good looks still shows despite the make-up. What a damn master of acting. I never hated a character as much as I hated Sgt. Barnes. Tom should have won the Academy award for Best Supporting. He was only nominated. At least he won the Golden Globe for the same role. So handsome ---his eyes can melt any woman's heart, like Puss in Shrek 2 when he poses his innocent cute wide-eyed face.
