  • google The Guardian carbon-emissions-nuclearpower

Greenhouse gas emissions increased by a record amount last year, to the highest carbon output in history, putting hopes of holding global warming to safe levels all but out of reach, according to unpublished estimates from the International Energy Agency......

the west has only managed to reduce emissions by relying on imports from countries such as China.

    QED I rest my case

  • Great video robz40

Why is it the Government trying to get us to retard our short lives, instead of enjoying, the few fleeting glimpse we do get? CO2 is harmless and there is enough of everything for everybody, forever, if we could only learn to share, let alone being told to become retards of the things we do love to do. "DRIVE YOUR CAR AT LEAST 5 MILES EXTRA EACH WEEK JUST FOR THE PLEASURE OF IT”

I would like to think it is our cleaver politicians stealing our money but I fear its retards

  • @RikRecked I couldn't agree more... :-)

  • Makes sence to me, china make all the parts, hence we pay for cheep labour in other ways haha, biproxy britain aye!

  • @20RoyalSuperKing Exactly, the more goods we buy , the more energy is used and more CO2 is produced. No escape.

extract from the article on New Scientist magazine US still responsible for most CO2 emissions 08 March 2010 by Phil McKenna

    Lifestyle emissions

"If we want to understand our footprint of emissions, we have to understand that others are emitting on our behalf to make our goods and services,"

  • scrappage scheme was also to make people transfer to more fuel efficient cars, so that completely wipes out your point.

Why are you talking about China? This government campaign is aimed at British citizens to the China. That is another matter for another governing body. Just because other countries are not making steps towards saving the environment it doesn't mean we have to follow their example.

go live in china if you feel like this

  • @nanstee1 The camapign is certainly aimed at the Brits and I am not endorsing China's model. I am simply stating the facts. The scrappage scheme was aimed at helping the car industry in a recession and the effect of more more fuel efficient cars on the road is (again!) negligible and pointless. Say you save 100grams per mile with 1,000,000 new cars.. that's about 1.5Mtons per year compared with the 2.5Mtons on the video.
